Larian has revealed that Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 7 won't be the final update the game receives, as a number of new features, including a photo mode and crossplay, are still on the way.

In a new community update focusing on the upcoming Patch 7, Larian points to the aforementioned features, as well as a number of bug fixes and gameplay optimizations, as inclusions for future patches, although the studio doesn't give a time frame for any of these features' arrival.

The developer also says that it's holding a closed beta test for Patch 7, which will begin on July 22nd ahead of the patch's full arrival in September. If you want to register for that beta, you just need to head over to the Baldur's Gate 3 Steam page and request access.

Rejoice, Baldur's Gate 3 fans, for Patch 7 won't be the game's last update.

This community update also contains a rundown of some of the features you can expect from Patch 7, including the long-awaited official Baldur's Gate 3 mod support, as well as improvements to split-screen gameplay and new evil endings.

Of course, you can also look forward to a litany of bug fixes, including specific changes to dialogue for origin characters like Wyll, Astarion, and Shadowheart.

Plus, if you're interested in showing off your love for Baldur's Gate 3 out there in the real world, then you'll be pleased to know new merchandise is available via Larian's store, including new shirts, a cassette OST, and more.

You could be in with a chance to test out Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 7 ahead of its official release.

If you've somehow avoided all the Baldur's Gate 3 hype, it's the third mainline installment in the classic Baldur's Gate series of CRPGs.

Unlike the first two games, which were developed by a pre-Knights of the Old Republic BioWare, this one was created by Divinity: Original Sin 2 studio Larian.

You play as either a custom character or one of several pre-generated "origin characters" infected by a mind flayer parasite, and you must find a way to remove it from your brain before you're transformed into a tentacled horror.

Baldur's Gate 3 has proven immensely popular since its release last year, racking up millions of players and claiming several Game of the Year awards along the way.

You can check out Baldur's Gate 3 right now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Patch 7 arrives sometime in September. While you wait, be sure to read our review of the game to find out whether it's for you or not.
