Larian has released Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 6, and it comes with a ton of fixes and improvements, including new kissing animations, new idle animations for your companions in camp, and more.
Last week, Larian revealed the first details of Patch 6, including its focus on romance and its rather hefty file size. Now, the patch is finally here, and love is indeed in the air.
All characters "now have unique kisses that reflect their personality", according to Larian. Kisses will be randomized, and some will be demure and romantic, while others will be more intense. Looking at you, Karlach.
Endgame cinematics have also been improved to "better reflect the connection between players and their partners", according to Larian.
As well as kissing, camp animations have also been improved; some companions will now engage in new idle activities with their own animations associated. You can now also dismiss a party member while talking to the one you want to take instead, which is nice.
Tons of other improvements have also been implemented, including one concerning dialogue priority; characters will now try to talk to your avatar instead of party members, which means your companions "should have less main character syndrome", as Larian says.
If you've played Baldur's Gate 3, you'll know it's the kind of game that comes with exhaustively detailed patch notes thanks to its complex interlocking systems.
Patch 6 is no different on this front; it comes complete with a smorgasbord of granular fixes and improvements, including fixes for the Shield Bash ability, a new fully-fledged Honor Mode boss, and much more.
You can check out the full Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 6 patch notes right here via the game's official website. Be aware that they are very, very long, so set aside some time and make yourself a cup of tea.
If you've somehow missed out on the Baldur's Gate 3 hype, it's the long-awaited third mainline installment in the Baldur's Gate series of RPGs.
The game is the first in the series to be developed by Divinity: Original Sin 2 studio Larian, which has proven the perfect steward for the franchise; Baldur's Gate 3 won Game of the Year at last night's D.I.C.E. Awards and has garnered over half a million Steam reviews, more than 95% of which are positive.
You can check out Baldur's Gate 3 right now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Make sure to read our review of it here if you're (somehow still) on the fence.
