If you are familiar with any of Games Workshop's tabletop war games, you have heard of White Dwarf magazine. Debuting in 1977, the magazine has provided articles on the hobby, including optional rules for different modes of play and miniatures. For the momentous White Dwarf #500, GW is giving fans a sneak peek at its giant-sized pages.
The White Dwarf #500 Sneak Peek
In a Warhammer-Community post, Games Workshop provides a glimpse at what White Dwarf #500 holds. First, this milestone issue will be 192 pages thick. Those pages will contain not just the same articles and features fans know and love, but a detailed history of the book's 47-year history from its inception to the present.
Those individual articles are also suitably jumbo-sized. This includes the issue's Battle Report, The Invasion of Samarkis. A massive campaign that starts with Boarding Action, followed by a Kill Team operation, then concludes in a massive 3,000-point Warhammer 40,000 battle.
Returning for White Dwarf #500 is the 'Eavy Metal team. They have a long history of presenting in-depth tutorials and painting showcases, helping to make your miniatures look their best. They provide their services once more to this issue on how to make impressive miniature dioramas.
In addition, the issue includes tips on how to paint a brand new Grombrindel miniature, the titular white dwarf from Warhammer Age of Sigmar. The tips include full paint mixes and step-by-step techniques. Naturally, the issue contains rules on how to use Grombrindel in games of Age of Sigmar, Warhammer Underworlds, and Warcry.
Games Workshop confirms White Dwarf #500 will contain new missions. These include;the conclusion of the Tale of Four Warlords saga for Age of Sigmar, and a new mission for Warhammer 40,000's Boarding Action, Boarding The Napthis, where entire halves of the battlefield rotate.
