Quicklinks: What is Copper Used For? | Does Copper Respawn?
Where to Find Copper
Progressing through the story of Survival: Fountain of Youth requires a lot of work. You'll need to Craft better tools, save up some Food and Water, and make a Boat to start exploring other islands. Some of the best tools in the Early Access launch version require Copper -- read on to learn more about where to find this useful metal and how you can use it!
What is Copper Used for in Survival: Fountain of Youth?
Copper is primarily used for the next class of tools and equipment after Obsidian and Leather. It's needed for the best possible items that you can make in the Early Access launch version of the game.
That's not all that Copper is used for, though. You'll also need to find some to improve some of your Crafting workbenches such as the Carpentry Workbench and Tanner Workbench. It's also used in the Solar Water Distiller, a passive Machine that allows you to get clean Water.
Does Copper Respawn in Survival: Fountain of Youth?
Yes, Copper respawns in Survival: Fountain of Youth -- as long as you're taking it from a Deposit. Typically, an empty Deposit will respawn all of its Copper in a few in-game weeks.
The loose Copper that you might find on the ground, however, does not respawn. This is the easiest Copper to acquire, but you'll only be able to do it once.
Where to Find Copper in Survival: Fountain of Youth
You can only find Copper after you reach the Buffalo Region in Survival: Fountain of Youth. That means you'll need to progress through the story to unlock the Region and make a Boat to actually travel there.
Buffalo Region Copper Locations
Copper can be found on two islands in the Buffalo Region: Copper Island (natch) and Red Island. As with all Crafting resources, you'll see the location of Deposits on the Map once you've Mapped an area.
Red Island has one regenerating Copper Deposit and Copper Island has three, so Copper Island is the place to go if you're looking to get Copper in quantity.
Puma Region Copper Locations
There are no Copper deposits in the Puma Region.
Snake Region Copper Locations
There's only one regenerating Copper deposit in the Snake Region. It's in the eastern maze-like portion of the island. The entrance to this area is close to the Shaman's home.
Bimini Belt Region Copper Locations
The last Copper deposit is found on Bimini Island to the east of the temple. You'll need to be on the lower level, then travel up a hill trail to reach it.
