Games Workshop has announced a general Warhammer price hike on most products that they produce, making the already expensive hobby even more expensive.
The Warhammer price hike will be between 3 and 5% in most regions (outside of Sweden and Norway whose prices are skyrocketing between 8 and 14%), starting on June 10th. This will affect both digital purchases on their website, and at Warhammer stores, as well as presumably with retail partners. Some products won't be impacted by this such as paint pots, and sets, White Dwarf, and Black Library products. This means all miniatures will be getting more expensive, as well as rulebooks, and this is positioned to happen just before the new Warhammer Age of Sigmar edition releases.
While a 3 to 5% increase doesn't sound huge, it gets a lot bigger when you look at the already high cost of many of Games Workshop's products. Let's take a walk through some Games Workshop products to see what that change would be.
Slaves to Darkness: Darkoath Army Set
Current Cost: $200 US Adjusted Cost: $206-210
Recently released, the Slaves to Darkness Darkoath Army Set contains 27 plastic miniatures, the battletome supplement for Darkoath, and exclusive tokens and warscroll cards. Those miniatures are 20x Darkoath marauders, 5x Darkoath Fellriders, 1x Darkoath Chieftain on Warsteed, and 1x Darkoath Wilderfiend, all for play in Warhammer Age of Sigmar.
Warhammer 40,000 Darktide: The Miniatures Game
Current Cost: $110 US Adjusted Cost: $113-$115.50
Launching May 18, this will be one of the last wave of products that will have a release before the Warhammer price increase comes into effect, meaning you may want to pick up your copy of it right at launch if you want it. This is a cop-operative board game type product that comes with 20 miniatures (4 player, 16 enemy), a 48 page campaign book, 10 dice, 72 different cards, 4 double sided Killzone tiles, and 2 sheets of double sided tokens.
Blood Bowl Gnome Team: The Glimdwarrow Groundhogs
Current: $50 US Adjusted Cost: $51.50-$52.50
A recent addition to the Blood Bowl line up, the Glimdwarrow Grounders present a gnome option for play as a team. The box comes with 14 miniatures, including 8x Gnome Lineman, 2x Woodland Fox, 2x Gnome Illusionist, and 2x Gnome Beastmasters. It does not come with the three star players who you will have to pick up separately at additional (soon to be increased) cost.
Warhammer Underworlds Wintermaw

Bringing cannibals to celebrate the season and the conflicts of Warhammer Underworlds, this box is designed to have everything for two players to start playing Warhammer Underworlds. It containes 2 Miniature sprues with miniatures for each faction, 1 assembly instruction, 2 reversible game boards, 2 token boards, a rulebook, 11 dice for gameplay, and 4 decks of cards.
Necromunda: Ash Wastes
Current: $310 Adjusted: $319-325
Necromunda is a skirmish campaign based spinoff of Warhammer 40k that takes place on the titular planet, and Ash Wastes is essentially a second starter box of sorts, and new region for the game. This box comes with 26 miniatures (10 Orlock, 2 Orlock vehicles, 10 Ash Wastes Nomads, 4 Dustback vehicles), a hardcover copy of the rules, a full set of modular terrain, various templates and tokens, 89 Ash Wastes cards, 16 dice, and a double sided desert terrain game mat.
