Today Activision announced that content dedicated to Games Workshop's tabletop IP Warhammer 40k is coming to Call of Duty Warzone and Modern Warfare 3.
Revealed wia the franchise's official X (formerly Twitter) account, the collaboration will include Space Marines, Sisters of Battle, Astra Militarum (Imperial Guard) skins, and more.
At the moment, we don't know what else that "more" may entail and whether it means more skins from other factions, or more items besides skins, or both.
The announcement was accompanied by the image above, showing a shield that could belong to a Space Marine or Sister of Battle's armor and an iconic purity seal.
At the moment, the release date of the collaboration has not been shared, so we'll have to wait a while longer to hear more.
Update 3/4/2023: Activision has detailed what you can expect from the Warhammer 40k content, which will release on Mach 13 at 9 a.m. PST. The event will continue until March 27.
The new mode named Juggermosh will see players battle by wearing Ultramarine or Blood Angels power armor which works like a Juggernaut Recon Killstreak. Players will battle over possession of a Chainsword, which is a one-hit-kill melee weapon.
You can grab armor from fallen enemies to restore yours, and players will even have a health bar over their heads. The Power armor prevents fall damage and if you drop from high enough, you unleash a stun effect around you
The Tracer Pack: Warhammer 40,000 Space Marines will feature two space marine scout operator skins featuring Ultramarine or Blood Angels Scout armor, which is much lighter than the iconic Power Armor.
You also get the “Ultramar’s Vengeance” and “Baal’s Wrath” skins for the Juggernaut Recon Killstreak to keep permanently. These are the same featured in the Juggermosh mode.
That's not all, as the bundle includes the “Ultramarines” and “Blood Angels” Weapon Charms, “The Flesh Tearer” and “The Teeth of Terra” melee weapons inspired by the Chainsword, the “Aegis Imperialis” Riot Shield Blueprint and the “Angel’s Fury” and “Courage and Honour” Battle Rifle blueprints, the “Contempt” Shotgun Blueprint, and the “Evisceration” Finishing Move.
The Tracer Pack: Warhammer 40,000 Sisters of Battle includes the “Battle Sister” Operator Skin, the “Heretic’s Bane” LMG weapon blueprint, the “Emperor’s Fury” Assault Rifle weapon blueprint, the “Imperium Aquila” weapon charm, the “Valorous Heart” emblem, the “Daughters of the Emperor” loading screen, the “Adepta Sororitas” large decal, and the “Adeptus Ministorum” sticker.
The Tracer Pack: Warhammer 40,000 Astra Militarum includes the “Cadian Kasrkin” Operator Skin, the “Munitorum Issue Blade” melee weapon blueprint, the “Hammer of the Emperor” Assault Rifle blueprint, the “Born Soldier” Marksman Rifle blueprint, the “Tactical Pet: Servo-Skull” Finishing Move, the “Astra Militarum” Emblem, the “Sacred Rosarius” weapon charm, the “Warstorm” loading screen, the “Cadia Stands” calling card, and the “War’s Decree” large decal.
The event itself lets you earn XP in-game to unlock milestone rewards as follows.
- “Inquisitorial Seal” Weapon Sticker.
- “Know No Fear” Large Decal.
- “For the Emperor” Emblem.
- “Righteous Hatred” Weapon Charm.

In other news adjacent to the Call of Duty franchise, we recently learned that Netease has been shopping once again, and has just opened a studio with David Vonderhaar at the head. Vonderhaar has led the development of several COD games in his 18 years working at Treyarch, including the fan-favorite Black Ops sub-franchise.
The studio, named BulletFarm, is a remote-first team headquartered in Los Angeles and is planning to release an AAA first-person shooter.
