With the attention on turn-based RPGs at its peak, Owlcat Games released a new trailer of its own upcoming game, Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader.
The video focuses on one of the most relevant aspects of the genre, companions. Much like the ultra-popular Baldur's Gate 3, Rogue Trader has a whole crew of companions that will follow the player in battle.
We meet the seneschal Abelard Werserian, the unsanctioned psyker Idira Tlass, the Adeptus Mechanicus magos Pasqual Haneumann, the navigator Cassia Orsellio, the inquisitor Henrix Van Calox, the cold trader Jae Heydari, sister of battle Argenta, the Space Wolf marine Ulfar, and the aeldari ranger Yrliet Lanaevyss.
We also learn of their romantic preferences, albeit it appears that not everyone is as horny as in Baldur's Gate 3. Several companions simply have no preference, while Cassia prefers malles, Henrix prefers females, and Jae doesn't mind swinging either way.
Interestingly, Yrliet keeps her preference a mystery and we'll likely have to find out in the game. At the moment, there seem to be no bears in Rogue Trader.
There's also certainly plenty of potential for inter-party drama. For instance, it's hard not to imagine sparks flying with an inquisitor and an unsanctioned psyker fighting in the same party.

Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One. If you want to see more, you can take a look at a previous trailer.
If you're unfamiliar with the concept of Rogue Trader, it indicates a class of free agents within the imperium who act as a mix between merchants and explorers. Those who don't die a horrible death in some interstellar gutter, never to be remembered, often end up leading enormous trading empires.
The name is likely to be fondly familiar for Warhammer 40k veterans, since "Rogue Trader" was the title of the legendary first edition of the tabletop game, which has now reached its 10th edition.
