V Rising Vampire Power Guide

Players in V Rising have access to a number of Vampire Powers, with the collection increasing as you defeat more bosses. In this V Rising Vampire Power Guide, we’ll list every power available so far and the way you obtain them.

V Rising Vampire Power Basics

Each V Rising Vampire Power can be accessed on the Powers Wheel (default Ctrl). Powers are activated by highlighting them on the Powers Wheel and letting go of Control. For powers that are toggle-able (like Dominating Presence), it's also possible to cancel them by pressing Left Ctrl.

Unlike Spells, Vampire Powers do not have a cooldown. However, they do have a casting time and they can be interrupted if you take damage while they are being cast. Furthermore, you cannot use Vampire Powers if you are out of Blood.

Here is a list of every V Rising Vampire Power and how to unlock them.

Blood Mend

• How to Unlock: Unlocked by default.

Consume Blood from the blood pool to heal over time. Good for healing early on, though it’s best to use healing items or rely on passive regen later on.

Blood Mend will not restore total health (the portion of the health bar grayed out after taking enough damage) while in battle.

Expose Vein

• How to Unlock: Unlocked by default.

Allows other vampires to feed on you, giving them your blood type and half your blood pool. Can be used to give an ally Blood Types of a high quality, though blood pool penalty can be detrimental.

Dominate Human

• How to Unlock: Progress through the tutorial until you unlock servants.

Can be used to charm enemies, though it disables the use of spells while active. Once active, it replaces your regular Spells with the special "Subdue Human" ability which can charm a humanoid that is under 30% health. That humanoid can then be taken back to your Castle and imprisoned. You are unable to use spells while dominating a human.

Dominate Mount

• How to Unlock: Upgrade your Castle Heart to Level 4.

Can be used on a Horse you control to turn it into a permanent mount with special powers.

Wolf Form

• How to Unlock: Defeat Alpha the White Wolf and feed on him.

Transform into a wolf and increase movement speed. The transformation is dispelled if you take damage. Very useful early on (especially with Alpha Wolf being the lowest-level boss in the game), and should be used often to speed up travel.

Rat Form

• How to Unlock: Defeat Nibbles the Putrid Rat and feed on him.

Makes you harder to detect by both NPCs and enemy players. Can be used to sneak through gaps in bases. Useful for stealth (can potentially steal loot or kill low-health players after hiding), though you can still be seen at close range. Taking damage dispels the transformation.

Bear Form

• How to Unlock: Defeat Kodia the Ferocious Bear and feed on her.

Transforms the user into a bear after a short animation. Increases all resistances and movement speed while also reducing incoming damage. Also increases passive health regeneration when out of combat.

The increased health regeneration is helpful for saving blood compared to Blood Mend. Increased resistances also means that it’s easier to carry silver or go into late-game holy areas.

Blood Hunger

• How to Unlock: Defeat Tristan the Vampire Hunter and feed on him.

Shows enemy Blood Types and quality above their head while Blood Hunger is active. Only really useful when quickly traveling on a horse, since it’s possible to view these stats without using Blood Hunger (it’s just slightly less convenient).

Human Form

• How to Unlock: Defeat Bane the Shadowblade and feed on him.

Allows you to interact with humans without gaining aggro; however, "strong-willed" enemies can see through your disguise. Also allows you to interact with human traders. Greatly increases Blood consumption rate.

Spider Form

• How to Unlock: Defeat Ungora the Spider Queen and feed on her.

Turns you into a spider that can burrow underground to hide from enemies and avoid the sun.

Toad Form

• How to Unlock: Defeat Albert the Duke of Balaton and feed on him.

Jumps high, letting you clear smaller hills. Taking damage dispels the transformation. Not terribly useful as it's overshadowed by some of the other transformations, especially Bat Form.

Bat Form

• How to Unlock: Defeat Lord Styx the Night Champion and feed on him.

Can fly over land, including many hills that Toad Form can’t reach. Great for movement and exploring the map.
