Open-world tactical RPG Wartales is finally out there in its 1.0 form, but developer Shiro isn't stopping there. The studio has shared an updated roadmap for the game that covers the rest of 2023, and it's promising new features like an extra difficulty mode, more Path features, and even some paid DLC to check out.
The original Wartales roadmap for 2023 covered the period leading up to the 1.0 release, which happened back in April. The first update since that launch is arriving this month, and Shiro has taken to Steam to share its plans both for the upcoming update and for the following months.
First up, in June, Community Update 1 is bringing some oft-requested features by the game's player base, including helmets, accessibility and quality of life tweaks, and "minor content". It sounds like a relatively unglamorous update, but hopefully, it'll feature some things that should make your Wartales experience a bit smoother.
Following that, sometime in Q3, you're getting Community Update 2, which sounds meatier. It'll offer new Path features, as well as an additional Extreme difficulty level just in case you thought the base game was too easy. New combat and camp features will also be added, as well as extra balancing and bug fixes to further smooth out the Wartales groove.
Finally, in Q4, paid Wartales DLC is on the way, and as you can probably imagine, it'll contain far more than the updates before it. If you buy it, you'll get a new region and new story elements, as well as a new class, more enemies to fight, and lots of other goodies. Shiro is even promising "new unique gameplay" for the DLC, although we'll have to wait and see what that might be.
Wartales is available right now on PC via Steam, where it'll set you back $34.99.
