Nacon and KT Racing have announced the Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown release date, which means the years of delays might finally be coming to an end.
According to a brand new trailer released earlier today, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown launches across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on September 12th.
Said trailer also includes some pretty tantalizing footage showing some of the cars and tracks you'll be able to experience when the game does finally arrive, and if you're a racing aficionado, it looks like you won't want to miss this one.
We first got wind of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown all the way back in July 2020, when it was announced during a Nacon Connect presentation by developer KT Racing.
The game was originally slated for a 2022 release, but was delayed to 2023. It was also set to launch on PS4 and Xbox One, but those versions were canceled to allow Nacon and KT Racing to "maximiz[e] the overall quality of the game".
Following that delay Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown was once again pushed back to an unspecified date in early 2024, although it seems that this release window proved somewhat too ambitious for Nacon and KT Racing as well.
Hopefully, this latest Solar Crown release date won't be moving again. You can check out the release date trailer for the game right here.
If you're unfamiliar, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is an open-world racing game (or "lifestyle and social experience", to use Nacon's wording) set on a 1:1 scale recreation of Hong Kong.
You'll drive a range of licensed cars from manufacturers like Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Dodge as you compete in the titular Solar Crown, a competition created by Hong Kong's mysterious "Radiant" organization.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown launches on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on September 12th. Stay tuned for more.
