Nintendo has announced a Splatoon 3 Zelda Splatfest to mark the launch of the upcoming Tears of the Kingdom. The Splatfest will begin in early May and will task players with choosing one of three factions: Power, Wisdom, and Courage, named for the three aspects of Zelda's Triforce.

In the announcement tweet for the Splatfest, Nintendo shared some artwork depicting Inklings representing each of the three aspects of the Triforce, as well as a banner asking players "which do you seek?". The banner is adorned with silhouettes for Ganondorf, Princess Zelda, and Link, each of whom traditionally bears one part of the Triforce throughout Zelda history.

Of course, the Splatfest won't just be asking you to choose your team. There'll also be a new version of Scorch Gorge to mark the event, and Tricolor Turf War games will take place in this new stage, which is decorated with a Triforce. In addition, there are also three new shirts to pre-order, each of which bears a Legend of Zelda logo and a silhouette of one of the series' principal characters.

The new Scorch Gorge plays host to a familiar-looking design.

The Zelda Splatfest begins on May 5th and runs until May 7th, so make sure you've decided what team you want to align with. This puts the beginning of the Splatfest exactly one week ahead of the impending launch of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which releases on May 12th (and for which Nintendo released a brand new pre-launch trailer just yesterday).

Judging by the Twitter replies to Nintendo's tweet, there are a heck of a lot of Team Power adherents, and many of them seem pretty thirsty for Tears of the Kingdom's Ganondorf, who is admittedly pretty handsome. Will that be enough to secure Team Power's victory? We'll have to wait until next month to find that out.
