As if Fresh Season 2024 wasn't enough, Nintendo has also announced a brand new Splatoon 3 Spring Fest event heading your way in April.
Last week, Nintendo revealed that Splatoon 3's Fresh Season will debut in March, and now, a new post on the Splatoon X (formerly known as Twitter) account reveals that it'll be accompanied by an intriguing-looking Spring Fest.
Images accompanying the post seemingly show the city of Splatsville decked out in floral accouterments, and in true Splatoon style, they're extremely colorful and fun-looking.
To celebrate this Spring Fest event, Nintendo says special themed gear is coming. You can grab several new pairs of shades and shoes as part of the event, although Nintendo says you'll need to check your Switch's SRL News channel to find out when the gear will be available.
Presumably, this gear will be offered to Splatoon 3 players for free; Nintendo doesn't technically say that it will, but previous event-linked gear has been given away gratis, so we're assuming this gear will be too.
Nintendo also accompanies these announcements with a quick explanation of Fizzbangs, the new item revealed as part of the Fresh Season 2024 trailer.
Fizzbangs are essentially ink fireworks that burst with your team's ink when they're thrown. You can grab them "every time you land on the map and defeat an opponent", according to Nintendo.
We'll likely get more information about when the Spring Fest will start, what the theme will be, and when you can expect to claim the free gear soon.
In the meantime, you can grab Splatoon 3 right now exclusively on Nintendo Switch. Be sure to take a look at our very own Dan Rockwood's review of the hectic multiplayer shooter to find out whether you should welcome it into your gaming library or not (spoiler: you definitely should).
