THQ Nordic has announced a SpellForce: Conquest of Eo console release.
The fantasy turn-based strategy game will make its way to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S sometime before the end of 2023, having launched on PC back in February.
Along with the release date announcement, a new console trailer was also released, showing off the game's strategic combat and management systems.
It looks like Conquest of Eo will make the transition from PC to consoles pretty much unscathed, too, so if you were worried about any complexity being dialed back, the trailer would seem to put those fears to rest.
SpellForce: Conquest of Eo is the latest game in the long-running SpellForce series of strategy titles, which got its start back in 2004 with SpellForce: The Order of Dawn.
For the most part, SpellForce is a real-time strategy series, with Conquest of Eo being the first turn-based title in the franchise. This won't be SpellForce's first foray onto consoles, though, with even SpellForce 3 Reforced making its way to consoles relatively recently.
Developed by Fantasy General II studio Owned by Gravity, SpellForce: Conquest of Eo has you managing a wizard's tower, learning spells to cast on the lands around you, and summoning minions and mighty fighters to do your bidding.
Three different paths are available for you to take: Necromancer, Artificer, and Alchemist, each of which focuses on a different discipline.
As you play, you'll expand your territory, deal with other factions and cities as you discover them, and generally establish dominion over your world using your prowess as a mage. If you're a fan of games like Civilization or other 4X titles, then you'll feel right at home in Conquest of Eo.
SpellForce: Conquest of Eo launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S sometime this year. Stay tuned for more.
