Indie survival craft-'em-up Soulmask has managed to smash through a major sales barrier in less than 48 hours on sale.
Speaking on Steam over the weekend, developer CampFire Studio and publisher Qooland Games announced that Soulmask sales reached a total of 100,000 in just 31 hours.
The two studios go on to say that the game reached the number two spot on Steam's global bestseller list in just four hours, and that after eight hours, Soulmask was in "the top 1 position for paid games worldwide".
Soulmask's devs also say they've reached the number one spot in paid game sales across the US, the UK, Canada, Germany, France, Japan, and Brazil, which is pretty darn impressive.
CampFire and Qooland also point to Soulmask's 80% Very Positive review rating on Steam, with the two studios saying they're "immensely grateful" for the support and pledging to "do our utmost to improve the quality of Soulmask" in the coming weeks and months.
The game's meteoric rise has been impressive indeed. Soulmask was released on Friday and quickly found itself climbing the Steam player charts, attracting a peak of almost 17,000 players within a few short hours.
At time of writing, the game's 24-hour player total, according to SteamDB, stood at 38,746, which is also its all-time peak player count. Suffice it to say this one's not going away any time soon.
For the uninitiated, Soulmask is an indie survival-crafter in the vein of games like Enshrouded or Valheim.
Promising over 500 hours of content in its current state (yes, really), Soulmask tasks you with building a tribe, exploring the world around you, and scavenging for supplies and resources to help you survive.
The game offers a "vast world" to explore, with plenty of different biomes to discover and creatures to fight. It's in Early Access right now, where the devs say it will remain "for one year at least".
You can check out Soulmask on PC via Steam. Stay tuned for more on this one.
