How comfortable are you with the destruction of hundreds of eggs and melons? Will you be able to make mundane household objects do mildly impressive things? We'll all have a chance when Taskmaster VR releases on June 13th.
Check out our interview with Alex Horne about making Taskmaster VR.
A quick rundown for those unfamiliar with the show: Taskmaster sees five people compete in a series of oddball tasks -- like painting a horse while riding a horse -- with no real idea how their performance may be judged. The Taskmaster views their attempts to complete a task and makes judgement on who did best and worst.
We'll soon have the opportunity to experience that ourselves, including the scorn or admiration from The Taskmaster himself, Lord Greg Davies. Of course, his trusty assistance Alex Horne will be featured heavily throughout the game as well.
Much like the show, the game will be structured around "episodes" of tasks over the course of a series to determine an overall winner.
Beyond these handcrafted tasks, by both the dev team at Scallywag Arcade with the help of Alex Horne, we can all make our own tasks, too. When the game first releases, you can set up tasks anywhere in or outside the Taskmaster house with all sorts of objects.
The task creation tools will only expand further as well, with the team at Scallywag stating they have big plans to expand the feature after the game's release.
In a release they said they want to add "enhanced sharing, more interactive objects and locations, crafting - and more" while asking the community to help identify what they want to see in the game.
Along with the release date, you can now pre-order Taskmaster VR if you wish.
Taskmaster VR will be coming to Meta Quest and SteamVR. No word on if or when it may come to PlayStation VR at some point in the future
