Nintendo has released a free demo for the upcoming action-adventure game Princess Peach: Showtime!, alongside a brand new trailer revealing some new gameplay.
The new trailer begins with a typically Nintendo-esque story setup in which Peach and the Toads attempt to relax at Sparkle Theater, only for villainess Grape to turn up with her Sour Bunch in order to "steal the shows" of the theater.
Peach and the "theater's guardian", Stella, must set out to save the day by ridding each of the building's productions of the Sour Bunch, using Stella's ribbon alongside a range of costumes to do so.
The trailer shows off some of the outfits we've seen in previous trailers, including Cowgirl Peach, Patissiere Peach, and Figure Skater Peach, among others.
Each of Peach's transformations will be available in one of the game's productions, so it doesn't seem like you'll be able to use them outside their individual plays.
In a move that's reminiscent of Luigi's Mansion 3, each floor also features a boss for you to fight, and once you've finished a floor, you'll gain access to Rehearsals, special challenges for certain Peach transformations.
Getting a high rank in these challenges grants you an in-game reward, many of which are outfit elements for Peach and Stella, allowing you to decorate their outfits outside of plays.
That's not all, either. According to dataminer LuigiBlood on X (thanks, Nintendo Life), it looks like the mystery of Princess Peach: Showtime!'s developer has finally been solved.
LuigiBlood says that files discovered within the Princess Peach: Showtime! demo include the developer code "PJ037", which is a format used for games developed by longtime Nintendo collaborator Good-Feel.
You might know the studio's name from previous efforts like Yoshi's Crafted World, Kirby's Epic Yarn, and Wario Land: Shake It!. Good-Feel's involvement with Princess Peach: Showtime! would make a lot of sense in light of these previous collaborations.
In any case, Princess Peach: Showtime! launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch on March 22nd. A free demo of the game is available right now via the eShop.
