Ubisoft has announced a permanent Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown price drop, so if you missed out on one of 2024's best games, now's your chance to pick it up.
As spotted by PCGamesN, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is now $10 cheaper across all platforms, and you'll probably be able to find it at a lower price if you're picking it up physically now as well.
PCGamesN asked Ubisoft about the price drop, and the studio confirmed that the change "is permanent" rather than being due to a sale, so you don't need to worry about missing out on this deal.
No reason was given for the price drop, but we can make some educated guesses.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is coming to Steam in August, so it's possible Ubisoft wants to lower the price to make the game more enticing for Steam players. It's likely a launch discount will also be applied to further attract Steam users at launch.
It's also possible that Ubisoft believes it got the price for the game wrong the first time around and wants to make an adjustment to put the game more in line with some of its fellows, although it's still not as cheap as the likes of Hollow Knight or Nine Sols.
Either way, this is a real win-win for anyone who's yet to check this game out, because Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is one of the most underrated games of the year already, and we're only in June.
If you're unfamiliar, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a 2.5D Metroidvania with a heavy emphasis on acrobatic platforming and combat.
You play as Sargon, a warrior of the Persian Immortals who must travel to the mystical Mount Qaf in order to save the captured Prince Ghassan. Along the way, you'll engage in classic Prince of Persia-style platforming challenges, take on massive bosses, and upgrade your abilities in true Metroidvania fashion.
The Lost Crown might be a single-player experience, but there's still plenty of new stuff on the horizon for it, including a new chunk of single-player DLC that was announced during the recent Ubisoft Forward showcase.
You can grab Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown right now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, and after the price drop, I'd heartily recommend you do. If you still need convincing, check out our review to find out why this one's a real banger.
