Frontier Developments has announced that its zoo sim Planet Zoo is heading to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S later this year.
The game, which originally launched on PC via Steam all the way back in November 2019, will arrive on current-gen consoles on March 26th, according to Frontier.
It'll also come with "over 4 years' worth of features, content, and animals" represented by the game's free updates, although none of the paid DLC currently available will seemingly be included in the console release.
Pre-ordering the console versions, however, will grant access to three animals in the form of the Pygymy Hippopotamus, the Komodo Dragon, and the Thomson's Gazelle, which are the same animals available as part of the PC version's Deluxe Upgrade Pack DLC.
In addition, grabbing the Season Pass for the game will grant access to "14 future console DLC packs", so many of the game's DLC animals are likely on their way to the console versions as well, although a time frame hasn't been announced yet.

If you're not familiar with Planet Zoo, it's a zoo management simulation created by the folks behind theme park sim Planet Coaster.
As you'd probably expect, the game is all about creating and managing your dream zoo, ensuring that the animals in your exhibits are well cared-for and have everything they need to thrive.
Planet Zoo also allows users to share creations via the Steam Workshop, so hopefully, there'll be some way of doing the same on the console versions as well.
We'll have to wait and see what Frontier has up its sleeve for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Planet Zoo. In the meantime, you can grab the game on PC via Steam right now.
