Next week is the release of Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse and its level 3-7 Adventure. Rut, Scrappy, and newcomer to the pod Will join Stretch as they awaken in a Mortuary on Sigil and try to make their way out.
There's a ton of new Dungeons and Dragons content dropping this month, so we decided that we'd do a few one-shots to showcase each one this month. A few weeks ago we did Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk and we may have one more up our sleeve before October is done!
P.S. I really think Rangers are OP, which is why I keep choosing them! Watch the video of our session below, and I'll also share the Character Creation rules we went by below.
In Session 1 players will awaken to find themselves in Sigil, the City of Doors.
Character Creation Rules
- 4th Level Character
- All Species, Classes, Sub-Classes, and Backgrounds are allowed
- Characters begin with 250 GP to purchase additional non-magical gear
- Add one Common magic item to your inventory
An interesting aspect of Planescape is that I'll actually be requesting that everyone makes two characters, or to be more specific two variants of the same character.
Part of the story of Planescape is that the party is suffering from a multi-versal 'glitch' that causes them to be out of shift/an anomaly to the world around them. If there is a significant event, or a player dies, their multiversal person will be found somewhere ahead of them. The difference in your multiversal character could be as slight as one of them having facial hair and the other doesn't, or one could be a Wizard while the other is a Fighter.
Whichever version of your character you ARE NOT starting with please add "(Inactive)" to their name when you make them.
e.g "Fiong (Inactive)" and "Fiong", both will show your account name as the player so should make it easier for me to determine who is who in turn orderSome questions to ask yourself when creating your variant characters:
- What was the greatest decision or turning point in your character's life?
- What is something your character wishes they could change about themselves?
- What is your character's signature possession or physical trait?
