Breeding in Palworld isn’t as simple as dropping them off somewhere and hoping an egg comes from it. You need to craft a few things, bake a cake, and hope for the best.
To start with, you’ll need to craft a few things.
Crafting Needed for Breeding in Palworld
To start with, you’ll need a Breeding Farm to breed Pals. This massive piece of infrastructure requires Level 19 Technology, and you’ll 100 Wood, 20 Stone, and 50 Fiber.
It’s such a large structure, you may need to make an entire new base. If you do that, you’ll need a Palbox, two Pal beds, and a Feed Box as well.
At some point, you’ll also need an Egg Incubator. This is a piece of Ancient Technology, and and we have another guide on how to get Ancient Technology points. You’ll also need a Mill and a Cooking Pot.
How to Breed Pals in Palworld
After you’ve built everything, you’ll need to deploy two Pals (one male and one female) to the base and have them “work” at the Breeding Farm. You’ll also need to place Cake in the box on the edge of the Feeding Farm’s gate.
To make cake, you’ll need 5 flour, 8 red berries, 7 milk, 8 eggs, and 2 honey, and you have to cook it in the Cooking Pot. You can find most of the ingredients in the wild, such as red berries, milk, and honey, but you’ll need to create flour. To do this, you’ll need what for the Mill.
If you’re struggling to get the ingredients, you can buy milk and eggs from the small settlement to the southwest of the Rayne Syndicate’s Tower. Honey can be hard to get, but just take down any bee-like Pal. There are quite a few, so just explore and keep your eyes peeled – they generally tend to be in the deeper parts of the main island in the center of the map.
After a bit of time goes by, you’ll be able to go back and find an egg. There’s a timer in the middle of the Breeding Farm that shows you how close it is to finishing, so you can gauge how much time is left.
After that, an egg will appear! You can continue breeding the same Pals with more cake, or you can deploy new ones to see what kind of Pals you make. Eggs go into the Egg Incubator to hatch.
Breeding Pal Traits
The traits of the egg Pal will come from the Pals you breed, so make sure you’re choosing parents that have good traits and that you want to see. This is one of the best ways to make the strongest and most optimal Pals.
Keep in mind that not all Pal traits are ideal, even if they have up-facing arrows. You can learn more about Pal traits here in our Palworld Pal guide.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Lucky Pals can be bred at this time. We'll update with more information as we test it out.
That’s everything there is to breeding Pals in Palworld! Check back for more information as we learn more. If you’ve got any tips or tricks or you see that we’ve missed something, feel free to comment below.
