The tutorial of Palworld is pretty lengthy, and it ends with tasking you with making your way to the Rayne Syndicate’s Tower, or Tower of the Rayne Syndicate as the map calls it, and defeating the boss. Compared to the battles around it, it can be a bit of a shock – literally. The electric Pal that’s the boss, Grizzbolt, fights differently than anything else in the area.
Here’s everything you need to know going into the Rayne Syndicate’s Tower, from Pals to bring to how to fight.
Where is the Rayne Syndicate’s Tower in Palworld
The Rayne Syndicate’s Tower is located on the main archipelago in Palworld. It’s northwest of the beginner’s plateau, and there’s a Fast Travel tower nearby so you can explore and come back to it when you’re ready.
Keep in mind that the first time you see the tower, your base will start being raided. This happens even if you see the tower from far away, so don’t get too close until you feel comfortable protecting your base. Luckily, these early raids are pretty easy to deal with, but don’t be surprised to see Rayne Syndicate Thugs try to take you down outside of the tower.
Best Pals To Defeat The Rayne Syndicate’s Tower Battle
There are a few Pals that can help with the Rayne Syndicate’s Tower battle in Palworld. Each of them is found either near the tower itself or in the areas between it and the beginner’s plateau. There is a fairly linear path to get between the two, which is where these Pals are.
An underrated Pal to bring is Daedream as long as you get the collar technology for it. Once you’ve crafted Daedream’s collar, the Pal will constantly stay out and attack enemies while you have a different Pal on the field. This lets you have two Pals attacking at the same time, which is great since every shred of damage helps. Daedream only comes out at night, but they do appear right outside the ruins at the beginner’s plateau, so they’re pretty easy to find.
Foxparks is another great Pal to use as long as you have the technology for its buddy move. This turns the Pal into a flamethrower, and it deals great damage while also potentially burning the boss. Even when the buddy move has run its course, Foxparks attacks can continue burning.
While Eikthyrdeer can be hard to catch in the beginning, it’s worth the time and effort. It’s easily one of the strongest Pals to bring to this fight, and the sheer damage it puts out is enough to bring it to the Rayne Syndicate’s Tower. If you’re struggling to catch one, try catching a Foxparks first and using it to burn down the Eikthyrdeer’s HP down before throwing a sphere.
Another great Pal is Tanzee, especially once you have the technology unlocked. The gun that it wields does a lot of damage without you having to hold the Pal, which lets you continue shooting the boss without interruption. Plus, Tanzee’s regular attacks do consistently high damage, and it creates a wide field of attacks to maximize damage, which can stop Grizzbolt in its tracks.
Weapons to Bring to the Rayne Syndicate’s Tower
While Grizzbolt has a few long-range attacks that can be devastating, the damage it does when it gets up close and personal is where things can start getting dicey. For this reason, stick to ranged weapons like a three-shot bow or even a musket.
The difficulty you choose for the game changes how difficult this fight is, but a good rule of thumb is to take at least the three-shot bow with you. A musket makes this fight incredibly easy, so if you’re struggling with the battle you may want to continue leveling up until you can make one.
Battle Techniques that Shine in the Rayne Syndicate’s Tower in Palworld
While planning the Pals and weapons you bring to the Rayne Syndicate’s Tower is important, having a game plan is also important. You can’t just run in there with guns swinging – there are a few tips you should know.
When you first go into the tower, look at the environment and locate the pillars. These are perfect for hiding behind and shooting since they block damage. If you can play chicken with Grizzbolt around these, then you can easily make it through the entire battle without taking any damage.
If you choose to not bring Foxparks, then you should at least bring a Pal that can inflict burns. This status condition provides more damage, and every little bit of damage is worth inflicting. There are other status effects that you can inflict, and the easiest way to do so this early in the game is with status bows. However, if you choose to do this, you’ll want to bring several bows and arrow types to the fight – you can’t rely on the status bows to do enough damage to take Grizzbolt down.
