Our Palia Silver-Winging It Quest Guide features a full Temple of the Gales walkthrough and will help you complete this challenging series of quests!
Palia features a lot of interesting locations to explore on the map. Though you'll surely spend some time mining for ore and making furniture, you can also explore temples to progress the story. Read on to learn how to complete the Temple of the Gales!
How to Unlock the Palia Silver-Winging It Quest
You can unlock the Palia Silver-Winging It Quest by completing the "Look to the Sky" Quest from Zeki. You'll have to complete the previous temple from the "A Catalyzing Caper" Quest first, as well.
Palia Silver-Winging It Quest Walkthrough | Temple of the Gales Walkthrough
Once you've completed Zeki's Quest "Look to the Sky," you'll have what you need to enter the Temple of the Gales. Make sure you have a fully repaired Fishing Rod, at least 20 Smoke Bombs for catching Bugs, and a Glider. Then, head to the Temple of the Gales entrance in the southeastern portion of Bahari Bay.
Heading Into the Temple
Zeki, Elouisa, and Caleri will meet you outside of the temple. Head inside and you'll find a long hallway leading to a platform. The three of them each have Discovery quests for you, each of which will be completed throughout the course of your exploration.
- Zeki is looking for 7 pieces of treasure.
- Elouisa is looking for four tablets about the mystical Silverings.
- Caleri is looking for another four tablets about the Silverwings.
Accept these quests, then move forward to the platform. Zeki will require your help to fix the Flowstone Gate. Once it's active, step through and you'll have your first puzzle to solve.
How to Solve the Egg Puzzle
Your first task will be to solve a deceptively simple puzzle. You have four eggs — red, yellow, green, and blue — and three of these eggs must be placed on pillars at the rear of the room.
Each of the symbols on the pillars is associated with a particular egg. You can get information on two of the pillars by talking to your companions; this means that the third pillar would naturally be one of the two remaining eggs.
Here is the solution:
From left to right, you need to place the red egg, the blue egg, and the green egg on the pedestals. Once this is done, a door will open up on the opposite side of the room, right behind the Flowstone Gate. Head through the door.
Arriving on the Main Island
Behind the Flowstone Gate is a long hallway that leads to a large room. There is a large golden vent in the floor at the center of this room. Walk on top of it, jump, and activate your glider. You will be catapulted up into the air and you'll land atop the first floating island.
The Temple of the Gales is separated into four distinct floating islands. Here's a rough map of the area:
You can reach either the Bug Island or the Fish Island right away, but access to the Temple Island is blocked. You will now get an additional three quests from your trio of companions.
- Zeki gives you "It Takes a Village - Zeki" which requires you to collect 10 Warm Silverwing Eggs.
- Elouisa gives you "It Takes a Village - Elouisa" which requires you to catch 6 Ancient Flowbugs.
- Caleri gives you "It Takes a Village - Caleri" which requires you to catch 4 Ancient Cloudminnows.
As you might expect, the Ancient Flowbugs are caught on the Bug Island and the Ancient Cloudminnows are caught on the Fish Island. The seven treasures that Zeki is searching for are spread throughout all of the islands.
We're going to tackle each island one at a time; naturally, we'll start with the Main Island.
Exploring the Main Island
Let's get moving with our exploration of the main island! Let's get the first Warm Silverwing Egg — you can find it right next to the nest where you have to place all of the Warm Silverwing Eggs.
Next, head northeast of the Silverwing Egg Nest until you reach a stump. This has "Silverwing Study 411," the first of four tablets you need to find for Caleri.
From the stump, head east and climb up the cliff with the windmill on it.
Make it up to the Windmill, then head further east until you see a pillar at an angle. Climb on top of it and you'll find the second Warm Silverwing Egg.
Next, head west until you're at the opposite side of the windmill.
Look up and you'll see some climbable vines leading into the windmill.
Climb up these vines.
Inside, you'll find the Ancient Wine Barrel in a corner — the first of seven treasures for Zeki — and an Ancient Treasure Chest in the other corner.
Collect both of these items.
From this room, look to the south and slightly to the west. On the ground, you'll see another item you can collect.
This is the Ancient Symbols, the second of seven treasure items for Zeki.
Head slightly to the north and look on the stairs directly in front of you — this is Silverwing Study 450, one of the Silverwing Studies you need to give to Caleri.
Stay on this upper cliff and head north to the other side of the windmill.
On the northern side of the windmill, you'll see a broken curved arch with a small island floating nearby. Your destination is that small island.
Climb up the curved arch as high as you can go, then jump off and glide toward the island.
Next, climb up the cliff and you'll find the Golden Egg up top.
With that done, there's only one more item to collect on the main island. Head all the way to the southern tip of the island.
When you get to the southern area, you'll find a broken Flowstone Gate with an egg next to it. In the distance, you'll see a chain of islands and gusts of wind.
Pick up Warm Silverwing Egg #3. Don't worry about the Flowstone Gate; we'll open this up later.
Take note of the path marked by the red arrows. You'll have to use your glider and climbing to make it over to our next destination, Fish Island.
You should also pay attention to the gusts of wind. These gusts will push you in a direction, allowing you to fly farther than you normally could. Be careful, though — some of the gusts are traps and will actually push you down and knock you off of the map entirely.
Take your time to make it over to the island. Don't worry if you fall — you'll simply respawn at the nearest safe place and you can try again.
Exploring Fish Island
We've now arrived on Fish Island. You should have landed next to a small waterfall on the northeastern side of the island.
First, let's get Warm Silverwing Egg #4. You can find it at the nearest windmill, directly to the south of the waterfall where you landed. If you missed it on your way in, you can drop back onto the wind gust and fly up to it.
Alternatively, you can climb up the nearby cliff and drop down to it. Either way, we've got four of the ten eggs we need!
Drop down and head north. You'll reach a broken bridge next to some trees. Make a left turn here.
Just ahead, you'll see two climbable walls crossing over a gap with a wind gust blowing down in the middle. Don't try to fly through this gap; use the climbable walls to make it across.
On the other side, you'll find a perfectly circular pool of water where you can fish. This is where you'll find the first of four Ancient Cloudminnows for Caleri.
Once you've caught the first Ancient Cloudminnow, go back through the climbable walls that led you here.
When you get to the other side, head north. You'll find a broken bridge leading to nowhere. Look down and you'll see the fifth Warm Silverwing Egg sitting on a ledge.
Climb back up once you've grabbed the fifth Egg.
Turn to the east and you'll see a small, circular platform with a ladder on the side. The next Flowstone Gate is located on top of this platform.
Climb up to the top of this platform and activate the Flowstone Gate. Caleri will come through and give you the quest for catching the Ancient Cloudminnows.
Our next step will be to climb directly up the cliff behind the Flowstone Gate. Take your time and you'll make it up there with no problem.
Once you're at the top, head south. You'll encounter a pool of water; look down and you'll find the sixth Warm Silverwing Egg.
After you've collected this egg, walk into the pool of water and turn left. You'll see easy access to another circular pool of water where you can catch your second Ancient Cloudminnow.
Exit these ruins after you catch the second Ancient Cloudminnow and head west. Make sure to grab the Ancient Chest by the doorway on your way out! Next, look down and you'll see ruins with three walls and a pile of rubble. Silverwing Study 380 is in there, so jump down and collect it for Elouisa.
Next, head a short distance south and you'll see two windmills floating in the air, connected by some broken bridges.
The circled area in the below image shows you the location of the third of four Ancient Cloudminnow pools. Climb up there and get it.
Before you leave, make sure to turn around — you'll find Silverwing Study 125 for Elouisa on a pile of rocks.
Next, look to the east. You'll see several bridge pieces floating on some small islands. The circled island is your next destination.
Take your glider down to the islands. Watch out for the gust of wind in between the islands as it can easily blow you off course.
Drop down to the circled bridge and you'll find Warm Silverwing Egg #7 in between the bridge supports. Grab it, then look to the south — you'll see a gust of wind that can take you to the top of the broken bridge.
Now, face northwest. You'll see a gust of wind and a broken bridge. Follow this path and it will take you to the fourth and final Ancient Cloudminnow.
We now have all four Ancient Cloudminnows, but we need to get one more thing on this island before we leave.
Go northwest and climb on top of the tallest cliff.
Walk to the western edge of this cliff. In the distance, you'll see a short, stout windmill in the distance.
Glide down and head behind it as indicated by the circle in the image below. This is where you'll find the Ancient Miniature Airship, the fourth of Zeki's seven treasures.
Finally, head east and you'll see the Flowstone Gate with Caleri standing next to it. Talk to Caleri to turn in the Ancient Cloudminnows quest, then use the Flowstone Gate to return to the main island.
Traveling to the Bug Island
Now that you're back on the Main Island, look to the north and you'll see another Flowstone Gate in the distance. This is where Caleri, Elouisa, and Zeki are hanging out next to the Silverwing Nest.
Head over there and deposit your Silverwing Eggs. You can also talk to Caleri, Elouisa, and Zeki to progress their respective collection quests.
Go further north and you'll see another group of floating islands with orange trees in the distance. This is Bug Island.
On your way there, you'll encounter a vent with a gust of wind that shoots you up to a higher platform. Use it to get higher.
When you're on the circular white platform, look to the east. In the distance, you'll see Warm Silverwing Egg #8 in the distance.
Unfortunately, the only way back is to either drop down into the void and respawn or glide back to the Main Island.
Either way, you'll want to return to the same circular platform after the vertical wind vent. There is a small angular wind vent up there; take it and it will lead you to Warm Silverwing Egg #9.
Continue on the path along Bug Island. Take care to avoid any downward wind gusts.
The end of the path is marked by three short vertical gusts of wind. When you land, you'll be next to an intact ladder and a broken ladder on Bug Island.
Exploring Bug Island
Now that we're on Bug Island, it's time to climb up the intact ladder right next to where you landed.
As always, take your time climbing up larger ladders; trying to use shortcuts by jumping might cause you to run out of stamina!
Once you reach the top, you'll find the tenth and final Warm Silverwing Egg.
At this point, you could return back to the main island to complete this quest and access the Temple Island. However, there are still side objectives that you can complete on Bug Island, so let's get those done.
One more note: there are several more Warm Silverwing Eggs located throughout Bug Island — the developers at Singularity 6 thoughtfully placed more Warm Silverwing Eggs than necessary. Since we've already gotten all ten that we need, I won't be mentioning any more locations on Bug Island.
Turn Northwest from the tenth Warm Silverwing Egg and you'll find a short ladder allowing you to climb higher. Go up it, then head south and you'll find the next Flowstone Gate to activate.
Activate the Flowstone Gate and Elouisa will come through. She'll give you the quest to collect 6 Ancient Flowbugs. Head to the north side of the island and you'll see some wind gusts and a broken bridge; the circled area is a spawn point for Ancient Flowbugs.
Unlike the Ancient Cloudminnows, Ancient Flowbugs will respawn in the same place after you collect them. Remain in this area and keep catching them until you get 6 total, then return back the way you came to the main part of Bug Island.
Back on the mainland, look to some broken ruins a short distance to the southwest. This is Silverwing Study 399, one of the four studies you need to find for Caleri.
Next, return to the Flowstone Gate on the southern side of the island. Turn in the Ancient Flowbugs quest to Elouisa.
Slightly to the west is a ladder. Climb up it and you'll find Silverwing Study 425 for Caleri.
The final Silverwing Study on this island is a little tricky to get. Climb straight up the cliff behind Silverwing Study 425 until you're at the same level as the windmill at the center of the island.
Jump and glide to this small island to the east.
The next step is a little more challenging — we're going to the top of the central windmill.
Take the wind gust to the next island, and then take another wind gust to the top of the windmill.
Take note: you should avoid holding forward when you're gliding in these angular gusts. Carefully adjust your movement so you stay in the gust and get maximum height!
Now that you're up here, take a second to enjoy the view.
You'll find Silverwing Study 487 sitting on one of the ledges at the end of this upper platform.
You can also see another Warm Silverwing Egg from this high vantage point. Collect it if you want, but there's not a strict need to do so.
Glide down to the southern side of the island. Take the Flowstone Gate back to the main island.
Traveling to the Temple Island
Three islands down, one to go — it's time to travel to the Temple Island!
From the Bug Island Flowstone Gate, head southwest back to your companions. Place the remaining Warm Silverwing Eggs in the nest. Once you do, a gust pointing toward the final island will activate.
You can turn in items to Elouisa, Caleri, and Zeki as needed. Once that's done, hop into the gust with your glider and fly westward to the final island.
Exploring Temple Island
You'll land next to the massive machine on Temple Island. From the upper platform, look down and to the southwest — you'll see Silverwing Study 500 on a table on a lower level.
Glide down and pick up Silverwing Study 500. You now have all of the Silverwing Studies.
When you talk to Caleri and Elouisa next, you'll have to choose one of them indicated by quest flags above the two of them. Ending the quest by speaking to Elouisa will give you a gold star Ancient Flowbug, and speaking to Caleri will give you a gold star Ancient Cloudminnow.
Next, we have to get two more treasures for Zeki before opening the door to the temple. Head southeast of the temple entrance and climb up a cliff with a windmill on it. On the other side of the windmill is an opening where you'll see the Golden Ancient Fish lying on the ground.
There's one final treasure to collect before opening the temple door. From where you found the Golden Ancient Fish, head east to the edge of the island.
You'll see a green island with a windmill on it in the distance. The location of the Golden Chapaa is circled in red. Glide down to it and collect the sixth piece of treasure for Zeki.
Unfortunately, there's no easy way back from this place. You can either glide back to the main island and then take the gust back to the Temple Island, or you can fly toward the Temple Island and drop down into the sky in the hopes that you'll respawn on Temple Island.
However you make it back to Temple Island, get back to the temple door and talk with Zeki — there's yet another broken device that you'll need to help him fix.
Eye of the Storm Quest | Find Something to Pick the Lock
Zeki needs something with Flow in it to pick the lock. You're going to have to do a little more climbing to get to it.
While standing near the door, turn to the northeast and you'll see some vines and a ladder. Head that way and climb up to the top of the ladder.
Once you get up that ladder, turn and face west. You'll see a bunch of windmills above the temple.
Your ultimate destination is the highest central windmill as shown in the image below.
Follow the path by jumping across platforms and climbing up ladders until you get there.
When you're at the top, look around and you'll find a Flow Generator Fragment on the ground — this is exactly what Zeki needs!
Drop back down to the temple door and talk with Zeki. He'll open it up for you and you can head inside.
Unfortunately, we'll now encounter another old friend: the dreaded sliding tile puzzle.
Temple of the Vales Sliding Tile Puzzle Solution
As always, we'll have to solve a sliding tile puzzle for the Temple of the Vales before we can call it complete.
Fortunately, we put in the hard work for you: here is the solution, step by step:
- Left
- Left
- Left
- Down
- Right
- Up
- Up
- Left
- Down
- Down
- Right
- Down
- Left
And that's it! The tiles will light up and another set of Bundles will unlock at Night Sky Temple back in Kilima Bay.
Finishing Up the Temple of the Vales
We're almost done, but let's get Zeki his last treasure. Look to the right of the sliding puzzle and you'll see a set of goggles on a table.
The hitbox for interacting with these goggles is a little weird; stand on the table as shown in this picture and you should be able to pick up the Galeseeker Goggles.
Take the Flowstone Gate back to the main area. Talk with Zeki to complete his quest to collect treasure. If you haven't already, it's time to talk to Caleri and Elouisa to complete the "Proof of Magic" quest.
As a reminder, you'll have a quest flag shown above both of them once you've given the both of them all of the evidence. You'll get a different reward depending on who you pick; speaking to Elouisa will give you a gold star Ancient Flowbug, and speaking to Caleri will give you a gold star Ancient Cloudminnow.
With that, the Temple of the Gales is completed. You can now exit the temple the old-fashioned way or teleport back to your Housing Plot.
