Hello Games has released a brand new update for No Man's Sky, and this one's specifically targeting new players as well as old hands.
The Omega Update follows on from previous content drops like Echoes and Singularity, and it adds a brand new expedition for you to tackle, as well as new rewards and more.
First up, from today, you'll be able to tackle the new No Man's Sky Omega expedition completely free, whether or not you own the game. This free trial period runs until Monday at 6pm GMT and is accessible across all platforms.
The Omega Expedition itself has players beginning a brand new expedition together on the planet Nafut Gamma, offering a "diverse set of milestones" and a set of rewards for completion.
These rewards include a new Multi-Tool that takes the form of an impressive-looking staff, as well as a new flightpack and a new helmet to deck out your Traveller.
The community expedition system itself is receiving a rework, too. You'll now be able to enter expeditions "directly from existing savegames", bringing your favorite Starship and Multi-Tool along for the ride.
Other new additions in the Omega Update include boarding defeated pirate ships to claim them by taking on the captain, as well as a rework for the Atlas Path, new planetary missions, and more.
If you want to know everything that's new in the No Man's Sky Omega Update, you can check out the full patch notes on the game's official website.
No Man's Sky is available right now across PC, PlayStation consoles, Xbox platforms, and Nintendo Switch.
The Omega Update is also available to download across all of those platforms, and you can also check out a free trial for the game's new Omega expedition, whether or not you currently own No Man's Sky. Said free trial runs until Monday.
