This Nightingale Map Guide will tell you everything you need to know about the Map and the various Points of Interest you can find in a Realm!
Understanding the Map in Nightingale is the key to successfully navigating a Realm and finding all of the resources you need. In this guide, we'll tell you all about the Points of Interest on the Map!
How the Nightingale Map Works
Unlike some other games, the Nightingale Map will show you the entirety of a Realm's geography as soon as you enter it. However, it won't show you all of the Points of Interest unless you discover them.
Players can place up to 50 Map Stamps on a single Map by right-clicking. You can also place World Beacons which will show a waypoint in-game, making it easy to navigate to a particular point on the Map.
You can reveal all of the Points of Interest on a Map by climbing and clearing a Realm's Fae Tower.
There's one final important feature: the Map screen has the "Travel to Respite" button which will take you back to your Estate Cairn. If you're in a different Realm, you'll teleport back to your Home Realm. If you're in your Home Realm, you'll teleport straight to your Estate Cairn with little delay.
Nightingale Locations and Points of Interest
Here are the notable locations you'll find on a Map in Nightingale:
Aid
An "Aid" Point of Interest is typically an incomplete building with a nearby Survivor. Complete the building and you'll be able to recruit the Survivor.
Bastille of Agility
A Bastille of Agility is a puzzle that requires you to make your way to a specific point that typically requires some climbing.
Bastille of Insight
A Bastille of Insight is a puzzle that requires you to track down several glowing red glyphs on a wall and interact with them to turn them blue. Interact with all of the glyphs and you'll unlock the treasure trove of Essence.
Bastille of Intellect
A Bastille of Intellect has a number of crystals playing a song in a particular sequence. Successfully repeat the sequence to get access to the Essence.
Bastille of Might
A Bastille of Might is essentially an arena fight with several waves. Survive and you'll get access to the Essence.
Defence
A Defence Point of Interest requires you to protect several Survivors who are operating a machine in the area.
Essence Trader
An Essence Trader is a merchant who sells resources, crafting recipes, and building recipes in exchange for Essence. The stock of an Essence Trader is determined by the Biome and Difficulty of a Realm.
Some Realms can have multiple Essence Traders. In those cases, there will be one "main" Essence Trader who will have all of the recipes they should have and lesser Essence Traders with significantly smaller stocks.
Fae Portal
A Fae Portal can take you to a sub-dungeon that has several challenges to complete, typically based on the "Bastilles" you'll find in the world. Complete them all and you can get a large amount of Essence and loot.
Typically, Fae Portals are protected by several "Occupation" Points of Interest that are placed closely together in a cluster.
Fae Tower
A Fae Tower typically contains a Realmic Transmutor where you can play Minor Cards at the top. Successfully clearing out a Fae Tower will reveal all of the Points of Interest on a map.
Occupation
An Occupation is a common encounter where several Bound occupy a ruined structure. Defeat them and you'll get a bunch of Essence. Additionally, Occupation Points of Interest will often have a treasure chest hidden behind a breakable wall.
Respite
A Respite is your home where you've placed an Estate Cairn. You can only have one Respite at a time. You can return to your Respite at any time via the button on the Map.
