THQ Nordic and Pieces Interactive have released a brand new Alone in the Dark trailer that features a sizable chunk of (relatively) unedited gameplay.
The trailer is titled "Looking for Jeremy", and it follows protagonists Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood as they explore the Derceto Manor in search of Emily's uncle.
As the trailer progresses, we see both Emily and Edward exploring the environment, collecting supplies like bullets and weaponry, and fending off some pretty horrifying-looking enemies.
The trailer should appeal if you're a fan of classic survival horror experiences like Resident Evil (or, indeed, like Alone in the Dark itself). You can check it out here.
Alone in the Dark is an upcoming survival horror game which acts as a reboot of the classic and influential series.
Originally set to launch this year, it was subsequently delayed to January 2024 after publisher THQ Nordic and developer Pieces Interactive decided the October release slate was too crowded.
The game, which is described by its developers as a "love letter" to classic Alone in the Dark games, will have you exploring, fighting monsters, and scavenging for scarce resources.
Scenes throughout the game will "vary depending on whether you're playing as Emily or Edward", according to a press release, so you'll need two playthroughs at minimum to see everything Alone in the Dark has to offer.
THQ Nordic's new horror game is a pretty star-studded affair, too, featuring the voice and motion-capture talents of actors David Harbour and Jodie Comer in the central roles.
It'll also feature a story penned by Soma and Amnesia: The Dark Descent scribe Mikael Hedberg, as well as monster design from Guy Davis, who worked on Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio and The Shape of Water.
Alone in the Dark is set to release for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on January 16th. Stay tuned for more.
