Dark fantasy Soulslike Lords of the Fallen has broken a big sales barrier within just ten days on launch.
Per a post on the official Lords of the Fallen X account, the game, which launched on October 13th, has reached a million sales worldwide.
To celebrate the occasion, Hexworks posted some new artwork of a warrior (presumably the player character) holding a beast skull aloft, accompanied by text proclaiming the rather impressive sales achievement.
While Lords of the Fallen's sales don't quite match up to those of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, they are on par with those of fellow Soulslike Lies of P, which hit a million sales within its first month.
If you need a primer on Lords of the Fallen, it's the sequel-slash-reboot to Deck13's 2014 Soulslike Lords of the Fallen.
Hexworks' game doesn't require any prior knowledge of the original game to enjoy, but it does contain one or two fun references to that title if you've played it.
The new game takes place in Mournstead and concerns the revival of the dark god Adyr, who's lain dormant for many years but who is now threatening to re-emerge.
As one of the Dark Crusaders, you must travel the length and breadth of the land in order to purify a series of beacons that will prevent Adyr from returning, although all may not quite be as it seems.
The game may be out now, but developer Hexworks isn't resting on its laurels.
The studio has pledged to keep updating the game with new performance and gameplay tweaks; in fact, an update was released just today featuring changes to enemy leashing and New Game Plus, and another is due on Thursday.
You can pick up Lords of the Fallen right now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and you can take a look at my review right here if you're on the fence about journeying into Mournstead.
