Lords of the Fallen Lamp Tips

The lamp is an invaluable tool given to the player right at character creation. It allows them to access the Umbral realm which hides a number of secrets, and place down temporary checkpoints using Vestige Seeds at flower beds.

In combat, the lamp can be used to pull the souls of enemies. While this can be used to cause wither damage (temporary damage represented by white on an enemy's health bar), this function is especially useful for throwing enemies of ledges.

The lamp starts with a single charge initially, which is spent each time the lamp is used on an enemy — interacting with the environment does not use a charge.

How to Upgrade the Lords of the Fallen Lamp

After travelling through Lords of the Fallen's initial area, the Abandoned Redcopse, you'll end up in the main hub area. Here, you can talk to Molhu while in the Umbral realm. He'll upgrade your lamp, as long as you find Antediluvian Chisels.

There are 3 Antediluvian Chisels to find, each found in their respective area's Umbral version. Only a single one is needed per upgrade, with each allowing for more upgrade slots and charges.

Each chisel adds a slot for an Umbral Eye, a set of collectables that imbue new effects to the player when slotted. With all 3 chisels, the lamp can hold a single main eye and 2 secondary ones.

Calrath Slums

Found by the tree in the last half of Calrath Slums, being guarded by a Ruiner.

Feif of the Chill Curse

In the boss arena for Kinrangr Guardian Folard, not far into Feir of the Chill Curse. Area is entered via the bell door in Abandoned Redcopse, which requires the Pilgrim’s Perch Key bought from Stomund. 

Manse of the Hallowed Brothers

Kill the large knight at the start of the area to obtain the Manse Kitchen Key. Go through the kitchen door, then up and the across gap while in Umbral. The wall will have a breakable barrel, which when broken leads outside.

From there, go right, then up and across buildings. This leads into another building full of enemies — while they can be avoided, it's easiest to take them out before trying to grab the chisel. The Antediluvian Chisel is contained in an Umbral spirit inside the room.
