This Lightyear Frontier Homestead Building Guide will tell you how Homesteads work and how you can increase Coziness to unlock new Coziness Effects!
Although you'll spend a lot of time exploring the map in Lightyear Frontier, it's always nice to have somewhere to sleep at night (and plant your crops, too). In this guide, we'll tell you how Homesteads work and how you can unlock game-changing buffs by decorating them.
How a Homestead Works
A Homestead has two functions in Lightyear Frontier: it allows you to sleep and it gives you Coziness Effects which can give you buffs. You can go to sleep anytime after Noon. When you do, time will fast-forward and a new day will start.
As far as we can tell, you can place as many Homesteads on the map as you'd like. That said, it seems that you'll only get the Coziness Effects bonuses from the Homestead you actually sleep at. It's a good idea to have one "main" Homestead, ideally near your farms.
How to Increase Coziness
Simply put, you can increase Coziness by placing Decorations in the area around your Homestead. Only Decorations placed within the border surrounding your Homestead will increase the bonus.
Placing unique Decorations will give you a large boost to Coziness. Placing the same exact type of Decoration will give you a much smaller bonus. It's easiest to place a variety of Decorations rather than a bunch of the same type.
There are a total of 4 Coziness levels in the Early Access launch version of Lightyear Frontier, and each Homestead has a maximum level. You'll need to build a bigger Homestead if you want to unlock more Coziness Effects.
