Disney Lorcana is the latest game in the collectible card market. Launching in 2023 Disney and Ravensburger followed the success seen in the market by Pokemon Trading Card Game and Magic The Gathering by releasing their own. As you collect these cards you're likely wanting to learn how to tell Disney Lorcana Rarity and what your options are if you pull a special card.

Disney Lorcana sets players up as summoners who put Ink into their Inkwell and summon different characters from the extended cast of Disney characters. Players compete to collect Lore, or stop their opponent from earning their own Lore, to win the game.

If you play other card games like Magic The Gathering and Pokemon you can also check out our rarity guides.

How do I find out the rarity of my Disney Lorcana cards?

The rarity of a Disney Lorcana card can be recognized by viewing the symbol that's at the bottom center of each card. Unlike other TCG that use a letter or a number there will always be a symbol that will teach out what rarity your card is. These symbols also have colors to further assist.

The Disney Lorcana card rarity symbols in order from least rare to most rare are:

  • Common - Grey circle
  • Uncommon - An open white book
  • Rare - A bronze triangle
  • Super Rare - A silver/grey diamond
  • Legendary - A gold pentagon
  • Enchanted - A rainbow hexagon

This method of identification is the easiest to keep track of.

From top to bottom you can see the ordering of rarities from Common to Enchanted

Some additional variations of cards that you will see is that some cards will come in a standard print while others will be holographic. The Enchanted Cards also are not only just the rarest type of print, but they are alternate art of other cards that are available.

Disney Lorcana Promo Cards

The one exception to the above rarity orderings are when it comes to Promo Cards. These are cards that are only available at certain events.

Promo Cards can be identified by having a symbol other than the ones listed above. Some of the symbols we've seen so far include:

  • Two Quarter Circles Pointing To The Right - This almost looks like a fast-forward symbol
  • Multicolored Tilted Square - Not quite the diamond of a Super Rare but this symbol has a tilted square with red, yellow, green, yellow, and multiple blues
  • A Convention Logo - For D23 or GenCon we've seen cards printed with the logo of the convention they were available at

At the time of writing there are 33 Promo Cards

All Disney Lorcana Expansions

Since launching in August of 2023 there have already been a sizable number of Disney Lorcana expansions. Each has released with sets of Starter Decks, Booster Packs, Gift Sets, and Booster Boxes. The expansions released at the time of latest update include:

  • The First Chapter - August 18th, 2023
  • Chapter 2: Rise of the Floodborn - November 17th, 2023
  • Chapter 3: Into the Inklands - February 23rd, 2024
  • Chapter 4: Ursula's Return - May 31st, 2024

Each expansion contains 204 unique cards, with additional Enchanted variants on top of that number. You can see which numbered card in the set you have by looking in the lower left of each card. Enchanted cards will have a number on the left that is over the number on the right.

How many cards do I get in a Disney Lorcana Booster Pack?

Each Disney Lorcana Booster Pack contains within it twelve cards. The breakdown of cards are as follows:

  • 6x Common cards
  • 3x Uncommon cards
  • 2x Rare, Super Rare, or Legendary cards
  • 1x Foil card of a random rarity level

While a standard Disney Lorcana deck has 60 cards in it that doesn't mean you'll be able to purchase five Booster Packs and start playing. Each card has a different Ink Type that will let you know a bit about the main mechanic a deck of that Ink Type will have. This is comparable to the different colors of Magic the Gathering cards. You'll want to make a deck that focuses on one or two Ink Types so you're able to bring the best out of your cards.

Disney Lorcana Booster Pack Examples

You can also purchase Disney Lorcana Booster Boxes which each contain 24 Booster Packs within them. After opening up all of the cards you will end up with 288 cards with the following spread.

  • 144x Common cards
  • 72x Uncommon cards
  • 48x Rare, Super Rare, or Legendary cards
  • 24x Foil cards of a random rarity level

How much are rare Disney Lorcana cards worth?

While Disney Lorcana is a new game it's popularity among fans of card games as well as fans of Disney properties has already made certain cards skyrocket in value. The Enchanted cards are all easy picks for cards that will fetch a high price, as well as certain promo cards that aren't available to obtain anymore.

Other cards values will improve if they're particularly useful in a powerful deck composition, or if a new card is introduced that enhances their usability.
