W-Engines in Zenless Zone Zero act as your character’s weapons. Each type of W-Engine is unique and has effects that will only work if the character has a certain type of specialty.
With that in mind, here’s how to Modify W-Engines in Zenless Zone Zero to make dealing with tough enemies much easier!
How to Modify W-Engines
To modify your W-Engines in Zenless Zone Zero, head to the Agent tab from the main menu and choose the character that has the W-Engine you want to modify. After that, head over to the equipment tab and click on the W-Engine in the middle.
A menu should pop up showing the various W-Engines you have. Click on the W-Engine you want to modify and then click on Enhance. Clicking on the W-Engine’s level should allow you to modify it as long as you have the materials for it.
You can also do this through the Storage tab from the main menu. Simply head on to the W-Engine tab, which is the tab at the leftmost part. Click on the W-Engine you want to modify and follow the same instructions.
How to farm Components
Components in Zenless Zone Zero can be farmed through combat trials in the HIA. Head over to the HIA Club and talk to Bertha. Choose the W-Engine Modification option and you will be presented with five options:
- Attack Components - Used to modify W-Engines tailored to characters with Attack Specialties
- Stun Components - Used to modify W-Engines tailored to characters with Stun Specialties
- Anomaly Components - Used to modify W-Engines tailored to characters with Anomaly Specialties
- Support Components - Used to modify W-Engines tailored to characters with Support Specialties
- Defense Components - Used to modify W-Engines tailored to characters with Defense Specialties
Each of these will modify different types of W-Engines so make sure you’re farming for the right materials. Similar to character promotion, you can also dismantle and craft to be able to get the materials you need.
Three attack components are equivalent to a reinforced attack component. The opposite also applies. A reinforced attack component, when dismantled is equivalent to three attack components.
