HoYoverse has revealed the Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.2 release date, and the new update will bring two brand new characters for your party, as well as a new location to explore and more.
Arriving on May 8th, Version 2.2 will see the Penacony storyline reach its apex. It'll take you to new Dreamscapes, beginning with Dreamflux Reef, a barren location that HoYoverse says will stand "in stark contrast to the previous Penaconian fantasies".
Naturally, this update will pick up the Honkai: Star Rail storyline where March's Version 2.1 left off, so make sure you're up to date before you head into the new update next month.
As ever, you can look forward to new characters joining the fun in Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.2, and they're both 5-star characters as well.
The first, Robin, is a songstress who can buff her allies, giving party members the ability to act again with her Ultimate.
Your second character for this update is Boothill, a "cyborg cowboy" who can duel single enemies, making him ideal for focusing down a pesky or troublesome foe. Honestly, I think they could have stopped at "cyborg cowboy" and I would have been on board.
This update will also give you another chance to obtain 5-star character Topaz and Numby (the two come as a single unit), as well as Master Diviner Fu Xuan.
If you're not familiar with Honkai: Star Rail, it's a turn-based gacha RPG created by the studio behind Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3rd.
Like Genshin, combat revolves around building a party of diverse heroes and finding synergies between them, although since Honkai: Star Rail's combat is turn-based, you'll be strategizing instead of dodging and riposting.
You can grab Honkai: Star Rail right now on PC, PlayStation 5, and mobile devices. Version 2.2 lands on May 8th.
