According to the campaign page, the Enigma Puzzle Gamebooks are a new line of interactive game books. These books contain interactive stories in which the player progresses by solving puzzles. These stories are designed with immersion in mind, bringing readers into the experience.

I have a sudden urge to snap my fingers. Don't know why.

There will be three books available at launch: Dream Travel, Unhappy Birthday, and Cryptid Hunt. These books' puzzles will vary in difficulty on a 1-5 scale of difficulty. Harder books will have dedicated websites that will provide hints and solutions.

For Gloom fans, the second book will be a new way to experience the world. Unhappy Birthday is a solo adventure where you travel to Castle Slogar to celebrate Melissa's 9th birthday...again. But things have gone wrong with guests scattered throughout the castle and the disappearance of Lord Slogar.

This sorrowful and macabre gamebook is consistent with the tone of Gloom. Designed by Keith Baker, the 2005 card game tasks players with subjecting the Slogar family to misfortunes and tragedy before sending them to the beyond. The Addams Family in board game form.

Unhappy Birthday will feature new artwork by original Gloom artist J. Scott Reeves, six high-quality water-resistant stickers, and a 10-inch plushie of Frankenstein's teddy bear, Grogar.

The backer tiers for the Enigma Puzzle Gamebooks are as follows:

  • Cyber Soiree for $14: PDFs of all three books.
  • Cryptid Cache for $42: Book and PDF of Cryptid Hunt, a set of Cryptid Hunt stickers, and a set of Cryptid art prints.
  • Daring Dreamer for $48: Book and PDF of Dream Travel, a set of Dream Travel stickers, and a steampunk D20 plush.
  • Puzzling Party Favors for $51: Book and PDF of Unhappy Birthday, a set of Gloom stickers, and Grogar plush.
  • Ambiguous Archive for $59: Physical and digital copies of all three books.
  • Horribly Huge Haul for $129: All physical and digital products.

Within 90 minutes of going live, the Enigma Puzzle Gamebooks campaign fully reached its campaign goal of $5,000. At the time of writing, it has raised $8,830. The campaign concludes on February 22.
