The first NBA 2K24 gameplay trailer has arrived, and it's hard to argue with the impressive realism on display.

2K has released the first NBA 2K24 gameplay trailer, and it's showing off the game's impressive-looking ProPLAY system.

NBA 2K24 was announced back in July, and now, we're getting our first look at what the gameplay will look like. Realism, it seems, is the name of the game when it comes to ProPLAY, which is new for this year's installment.

According to the gameplay trailer's description, ProPLAY will deliver "authentic moves from real NBA game film".

To illustrate this point, the trailer shows off a series of sequences from the game that have been mapped exactly to the way players move in real life.

We see Kevin Durant dribbling the ball around an opponent, then scoring, and the footage of him doing so in NBA 2K24 is pretty much exactly as it appears in the match on which it's based.

A number of other players are also shown in the trailer, including DeMar DeRozan, Donovan Mitchell, and the LA Lakers' Austin Reaves.

The gameplay looks pretty fluid and smooth, too. I'm no basketball connoisseur, but NBA 2K24 is looking good as far as I can see, especially if the ProPLAY system can deliver animation like it does in the trailer.

It's worth noting here that ProPLAY won't be available on PS4 or Xbox One, nor will it be featured in the PC version of NBA 2K24, which, much like NBA 2K23, appears to be based on the last-gen console version.

The gameplay trailer exclusively features footage from the current-gen version of NBA 2K24, so if you're picking the game up on last-gen consoles, it's not going to look like it does in the trailer, sadly.

Either way, NBA 2K24 launches for PlayStation consoles, Xbox platforms, and PC on September 8th. The game is currently available for pre-order over on the official 2K website as well.
