THQ Nordic and developer Pieces Interactive have revealed the final Alone in the Dark PC requirements, as well as a host of other info for the upcoming survival horror game.

In a post on the game's official Steam page, the two studios discuss some general questions, technical enquiries, and questions relating to content for Alone in the Dark, which arrives on PC and consoles in just a few days.

The PC requirements aren't particularly demanding, but if you want to enjoy the game at its recommended level, you're going to need a decent card.

Alone in the Dark should be pretty undemanding for most gaming PCs.

Whether you're playing according to minimum or recommended specs, Alone in the Dark will require Windows 10, as well as a 64-bit processor. It'll also need to be installed on an SSD with at least 70GB of available space.

Here's a quick breakdown of the differences between the minimum and recommended spec lineup for Alone in the Dark.

Minimum

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3100 or Intel Core i3-8300
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 570
  • 8GB RAM

Recommended

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel Core i5-12400
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
  • 16GB RAM

As you can see, most gaming PCs running modern cards and processors will have no trouble whatsoever with Alone in the Dark, and even the game's recommended specs are less demanding than many other new releases.

In addition to revealing the minimum PC specs, THQ Nordic and Pieces Interactive also answer other important questions pertaining to Alone in the Dark in the new FAQ. The game won't have any third-party DRM, for instance, and it should run on Steam Deck at launch, although it likely won't earn the coveted Verified rating.

Don't panic: Alone in the Dark will have no third-party DRM.

The FAQ also reiterates that this project shares no continuity with the ill-fated 2008 Alone in the Dark reboot, nor with 2001's A New Nightmare or 2015's execrable Illumination.

One playthrough of the game will take you around eight hours, but you'll need to play through twice, once as Edward and once as Emily, to see everything Alone in the Dark has to offer.

Perhaps most refreshingly, no microtransactions or "other monetization features" will be present, and there's also no plan for a post-launch content roadmap, so the experience should be complete on day one.

Alone in the Dark launches for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on March 20th. Stay tuned for more.
