Games Workshop has released its first Warhammer Preview of 2024. The tabletop publisher has routinely given fans sneak peeks of what is to come to both Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar. Below is everything previewed at this year's Warhammer Las Vegas Open.
The Warhammer Las Vegas Open Preview
The first product shown at the Warhammer Las Vegas Open Preview was a new box for Warhammer 40,000 Kill Team. The aptly named Nightmare box contains two brand new teams, a Nemesis Claw warband of the Night Lords and a brand new coven of Drukhari Mandrakes.
In addition to these two terrifying teams, Kill Team: Nightmare boxes will contain new terrain. The Generatorum Hub is a large multi-level platform that offers protection from many different angles, covering a significant portion of the board's rough seas and sitting at a convenient height to access from raised gangways.
On a more galactic scale of the grimdark sci-fi franchise, new units were previewed for the T'au Empire. The Kroot Hunting Pack army set features a detachment of brand-new Kroot miniatures, including a commanding War Shaper, a surgical Flesh Shapers, a rampaging Krootox, and more than 20 reliable Kroot Carnivores.
Furthermore, a copy of the brand new T'au Codex will be included in this army set. If you can't wait to fight for the greater good, this is the set to keep an eye on.
Moving back ten thousand years, the Warhammer Las Vegas Open previewed a new Solar Auxilia battle group box for Warhammer The Horus Heresy.
This box contains two 10-men lasrifle sections, a Line Command section lead by Auxilia Troop Master and four Veterans, an elite Veletaris Storm section, a Dracosan Armored Transport, a brand new Aethon Heavy Sentinel, and a (noticeably less ornate) Leman Russ battle tank.
Lastly, fans of the Mortal Realms have plenty to look forward to thanks to the Warhammer Las Vegas Open preview. The tactical board game Warhammer Underworlds is getting a new group, Zondara's Gravebreakers. Wanted to traverse the heart of Ghur with a ruthless necromancer and her thralls? Now you can.
As for the slightly larger skirmishes of Warhammer Age of Sigmar Warcry, a new warband box was revealed. Warcry: Pyre and Flood introduces two new warbands: the Ydrilan Riverblades and the Pyregheists.
As the name implies, the Riverblades are warrior monks who embody the momentum of rushing water in combat. This allows them to fight with ferocious fluidity. The Pyregheists are the servants of Nargash, Supreme Leader of the Undead. Specifically, they are the tortured souls that wronged him live, cursed to eternal torment by balefire.
Finally, Warhammer Age of Sigmar had some new units previewed. The new Dawnbringers book, Shadow of the Crone, features new units for the Daughters of Khaine. These include the powerful Krethusa the Croneseer, the new Croneseer's Pariahs Army of Renown, as well as new rules for Stronghold Assault.
In addition, the new Dawnbringers book will feature the Saviours of Cinderfall. This Regiment of Renown can be used in a Cities of Sigmar army. It is made up of veteran witch hunter Hanniver Toll, ex-Freeguild officer Armand Callis, renowned thief Lyssa Revenya, mythic criminal Mistress Verentia, and Valius the Keeper Aqshian.
