Recently, ZeniMax Online Studios hosted its ESO 2024 Global Reveal livestream. This live event showcases upcoming content and features coming to The Elder Scrolls Online. Among those, there's a brand-new chapter and a new skill system.
The ESO 2024 Global Reveal Summary
The first major reveal in the ESO 2024 Global, later summarized in a blog post, was the introduction of a new Chapter, titled Gold Road. This will continue the story from the game's Necrom chapter. It will feature the return of Ithelia, the titular Forgotten Prince, and how that return threatens reality.
The Scions of Ithelia Dungeon DLC will feature two new four-player dungeons. Each of these dungeons will have Normal, Veteran, and Hard Modes, as well as their own achievements and unique rewards. It will be available on PC and Mac on March 11 and on Xbox and PlayStation on March 26.
As for the conclusion of this story, that will be revealed in the next chapter, Gold Road. This Chapter features a brand new zone and storyline. Said storyline is in the West Weald, a region on the borders of Cyrodiil, the Gold Coast, and Valenwood. Oblivion fans may even recognize one of its landmarks: the capital city of Skingrad.
But new locations aren't the only things Gold Road provides. The Chapter will introduce a new Scribing system. According to another post, Scribing lets characters manipulate the nature of magic allowing them to collect and customize special skills.
This customization is tied to Grimoires. Grimoires are new types of skills for your character's existing skill lines. You can customize Grimoires outside of their basic functions.
An example used is a Grimoire called Soul Touch. Soul Touch lets you pull magic from your being and cast it at a nearby ally or enemy. You can customize the Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary scripts of Soul Touch. These effects range from creating protective shields to restoring an ally's resources to generating Ultimate.
The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road is available for pre-order now across all platforms. It will be available on June 3 on PC and Mac, followed by Xbox and PlayStation on June 18.
