Keen Games has revealed the Enshrouded roadmap for 2024, detailing what's coming to the ambitious voxel-based open-world survival game in its next few updates.
The roadmap is a pretty ambitious one, although Keen Games says it wants to balance keeping players interested with not "over-promising on [its] capacity to deliver".
Like pretty much all other roadmaps, Enshrouded's is "a living and breathing thing", as Keen Games says, which means it's subject to change. Still, it gives a decent impression of what's coming to the game soon.
Features being planned for the next few Enshrouded updates include Steam Deck support, an improved UI for looting, and "smoother high FPS gameplay".
You can also look forward to smaller features like potted plants, rounded doors and windows, and musical instruments, as well as bigger systems like enemy patrols, weather, and a vanity system.
Major features coming later in 2024 include being able to share your base and visit other players' bases, as well as world events, additional biomes, and water.
In addition to announcing the roadmap, Keen Games also says that a new Enshrouded update, which will follow the game's first two major patches, is scheduled to arrive later this month, although the studio doesn't give any indication of what the update will contain.
If you're not familiar with Enshrouded, it's an open-world survival-crafting game in which your goal is to build a base for yourself and venture out into the imposing Shroud to discover treasure.
You can play either by yourself or alongside up to fifteen (yes, fifteen) other players in co-op play, and together, you can gather resources, craft gear, and do battle with fearsome enemies, all while discovering the world of Embervale's rich lore.
Released into Early Access back in January, Enshrouded has proven phenomenally popular with players, racking up a million sales within four days and hitting the two million mark in less than a month.
If you want to see what all the fuss is about, you can check out Enshrouded right now on PC via Steam. Be sure to check out our guides for the game if you're feeling lost in Embervale and need a little direction.
