Today Rabbit & Bear Studios and 505 Games released a new trailer for the upcoming JRPG Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
The video, narrated by the seer B'baba (voiced by Helen Keeley), introduces many of the titular 100 heroes that will populate the game. On top of that, we also get to take a look at quite a few minigames that appear quite intriguing.
It also provides an introduction to some of the plot points that sound really promising.
Of course, the massive number of recruitable heroes is a callback to the Suikoden series of which Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is a spiritual successor.
You can check out the trailer below. Incidentally, if you backed the game, you don't need to wait, as the closed beta of the game has already been released yesterday and you should have a code waiting for you already.
Of course, we can't write about Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes without remembering its creator Yoshitaka Murayama of Suikoden fame. He passed away on February 6 due to complications with an ongoing illness.
He will be missed and considering what I played so far of the beta, the game certainly promises to honor his memory as a crowning achievement of his career.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes will be released in a little more than a month on April 23, 2024, for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
If you don't have access to the beta but still would like an appetizer before you get to play this brand-new JRPG, you can already play the spin-off action JRPG Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising, which was launched in 2022.
You can also watch another extensive trailer from a few weeks ago, showing all the major features of the game, which promises to be a large, epic adventure.
Full disclosure: the author of this post has backed Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes on Kickstarter.
