Bandai Namco has announced the Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 PS5 and Xbox Series X|S release date, and it's not too far off.
Per a post on the official Bandai Namco X (formerly Twitter) account, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will land on current-gen platforms on May 24th.
You'll be able to upgrade from the PS4 version and use Smart Delivery to play the game on Xbox Series X|S if you already own it on last-gen platforms, and your save data will also be transferable.
It's not yet clear exactly what enhancements and improvements Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will feature when it does arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The wording of the aforementioned announcement post makes it seem pretty clear that the upgrade will be free for existing owners, but that technically hasn't been confirmed yet either.
Bandai Namco says that detailed instructions regarding upgrading the game and transferring your save data will be revealed "at a later date", though, so we'll get more information about the new releases soon.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 isn't the only Dragon Ball game to be making the leap to current-gen consoles.
Earlier this week, Dragon Ball FighterZ made its way to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, complete with rollback netcode, which was also introduced to the PC version as an update.
If you're not familiar with Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, it's an action RPG that allows you to take a custom avatar into the Dragon Ball world and experience many of its most iconic locations and characters.
As an online-focused game, Xenoverse 2 also allows you to do battle against other players or team up with them to take on epic bosses in raid battles, and pretty soon, you'll be able to do so on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as well.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 lands on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on May 24th. It's currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. You can check out our review of the game right here.
