French Developer Don't Nod and Focus Entertainment announced a delay for their game Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden.
The game was supposed to be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on November 7, but now the launch date has been shifted by over three months to February 13, 2024.
The announcement explicitly mentions that the developer is aiming to dodge the super-busy November, which is chock-full of releases of AAA games.
The message is delivered directly by Don't Nod CEO Oskar Guilbert.
We have decided to postpone the release of this new franchise by three months, as the market is experiencing an intense release cycle for AAA titles on PC and consoles at the end of the year. We are convinced that a commercial release of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden during a less saturated period will give it the attention it deserves.
Considering that Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is a new IP, this is likely a wise choice.
Luckily, Don't Nod fans aren't left in the dust with nothing to play this year, as Harmony: The Fall of Reverie released in June to a rather enthusiastic review by our Keenan McCall.
On top of that, Jusant will be released on October 31, 2023, for PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series S|X. If you'd like to learn more about it, you can read our hands-on preview and our interview with co-directors Kevin Poupard and Mathieu Beaudelin, and art director Edouard Caplain.
