This guide will tell you all about the Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor resources used for leveling up weapons and purchasing Upgrades!
You're not just exploring the Biomes of Deep Rock Galactic: Survival for fun — a big part of digging up all of that rock and stone is collecting resources to power up your Weapons and purchase permanent Upgrades. In this guide, we'll show you what these resources look like and what they do!
How Resources Work in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor
There are three kinds of resources in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor:
- Standard Resources: These resources are in every level of every Biome and are fundamental parts of every dive.
- Secondary Objective Resources: These are special resources that must be collected on each level of a dive.
- Crafting Resources: These resources are used to purchase permanent Upgrades after you've finished a dive.
Each level of a dive will have all of the Standard Resources available, at least one Secondary Resource (once you've unlocked them), and two randomly selected Crafting Resources based on our experience with the game.
Mineral resources are often embedded in rock and stone and they are substantially tougher to dig through when compared to regular terrain — take care not to get stuck digging something up while there's a horde of enemies behind you!
Best Way to Get Resources Fast
The best way to get resources fast is to use a Driller and repeatedly run through lower Hazard levels, especially in the Crystalline Caverns Biome — its lack of environmental hazards when compared to Magma Core and Hollow Bough makes collecting resources much easier.
The Driller's buff to Mining makes him an exceptional Class choice for gathering resources. You'll be able to quickly dig through the walls and get resources before the alien bugs can catch up to you.
List of Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor Resources
Here is a list of all of the Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor resources that we've found so far along with pictures
Standard Resources
Standard Resources appear on every level of a dive, regardless of Biome or Hazard level. They are a fundamental part of gameplay.
Gold
Gold is used to purchase generic upgrade boosts in the Shop in between levels of a dive. It can also be used to reroll the Shop stock at an escalating cost for each reroll and to heal 50% of your health. In addition to the Shop, Gold can be used to reroll the Level Up bonuses during a dive.
The amount of Gold you're carrying can also affect the bonuses from certain Artifacts.
Nitra
Nitra is used to purchase Weapon upgrades in the Shop after finishing a level of a dive. It can also affect the power of certain Artifacts.
Red Sugar
Red Sugar can be used to immediately heal your dwarf during a dive. It can also affect the bonuses from certain Artifacts.
XP (Experience)
XP is used to level up your dwarf during a dive. Blue cubes give a small amount of XP and pink stars give a larger amount of XP.
You have to collect XP by walking near it; you can increase your Pickup Radius by purchasing certain Level Up bonuses or investing in the "Pocket Magnets" Upgrade.
Secondary Objective Resources
Secondary Objective Resources are collected as part of a random Secondary Objective assigned for each level of a dive.
Typically, these Secondary Objectives will require you to collect the following amounts of these Secondary Objective Resources:
- 6 Apoca Bloom
- 12 Boolo Cap
- 20 Morkite
Secondary Objective Resources will not spawn in any dives until you complete the "Collect 100 Gold" Milestone and unlock the Secondary Objectives mechanic.
Apoca Bloom
Apoca Blooms are white flowers that are found on the ground.
Boolo Cap
Boolo Caps are pink mushrooms that are found on the ground.
Morkite
Morkite is a metallic blue mineral that must be dug up like any other Crafting Resource. It's unlikely that you'll find all of the Morkite that you'd need in a single vein, so you'll almost always have to find at least two Morkite veins to collect enough and complete the Secondary Objective.
Upgrade Resources
Upgrade Resources are used after a dive to purchase Upgrades. Unlike Deep Rock Galactic, these Upgrade Resources are not restricted to specific Biomes; as far as we can tell, each level of a dive will randomly spawn two Upgrade Resources.
Bismor
Bismor is a large yellow stalagmite with red rocks mixed in. It is used to purchase the "Heavy Bullets" and "Reload Speed" Upgrades.
Croppa
Croppa is a teal rock with smaller purple rocks in it; it is found in walls. It's used to purchase the "Better Boots" and "Mining 101" Upgrades.
Enor Pearl
Enor Pearl is a group of small, white orbs typically found deep inside of walls. It's used for the "Upgraded Armor" and "Me Lucky Charms" Upgrades.
Jadiz
Jadiz is a glowing neon green mineral found inside of walls. It's used to buy the "Fast Learner" and "Pocket Magnets" Upgrades.
Magnite
Magnite is a red stalagmite with dark grey crystals embedded in it. You can use it to buy the "Getting Fit" and "First Aid Kit" Upgrades.
Umanite
Umanite is a neon green stalagmite with pale green crystals embedded in it. It's used to purchase the "Target Practice" and "Mind Blowing" Upgrades.
