This guide will tell you how to unlock every Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor Artifact, what each Artifact does, and the best Artifacts to pick on a dive!
While your Weapons are an important part of surviving a dive in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, you should not underestimate the advantages of Artifacts. These special items can power up any Class and give you an edge in your fight against the bugs. Keep reading to learn more!
How Artifacts Work in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor
Artifacts can change the rules of the game by giving you a buff or a conditional buff. For example, some Artifacts will simply increase your stats. Others will give you special conditional buffs such as increasing your Damage by an amount relative to how much Gold you have.
It's important to note that not all Artifacts will give you buffs with no downsides. The Ammo Rig Artifacts, for example, will give you +50% Fire Rate — but it will also reduce your Move Speed by -15%.
You can get Artifacts by picking up a Supply Drop when it lands during each stage of a dive. If you fail to pick up an Artifact, you will miss out on it for that run. The Supply Drop will give you a choice of three random Artifacts selected from the pool of Artifacts that you've unlocked. There is no way to reroll the Artifacts that you can choose from.
It's possible to get multiple copies of an Artifact, especially in the early game. This will become less and less likely as you unlock more Artifacts by completing Milestones, though.
How to Unlock More Artifacts
You can unlock more Artifacts by completing their associated Milestones; check the Milestones menu on the title screen and then click on the "Artifacts" button to see a full list of how to specifically unlock these Artifacts.
Some Artifacts require focusing on a particular task such as raising a specific stat to a certain level or collecting a large amount of a resource over several runs.
Best Artifacts to Take
The Best artifact to take, hands down, is the BLT Ration Pack. It gives you +70 Max HP and +2 Life Regen with no downsides whatsoever.
Similarly, the health bonuses from the Red Sugar Cube (Increase Max Health by +2 every time you pick up Red Sugar) and Vita-Miner Pills (Increase the healing granted on level up) have no downsides, and having more Health is rarely a bad thing.
Beyond these choices, the Artifacts you select are dependent on your chosen strategy. If you can't survive standing still for a long time, taking the Popup Tripod Artifact (+2% Fire Rate, +2% Reload Speed while standing still) is a bad choice. You should make smart choices based on your dwarf's abilities at the time!
Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor Artifact Unlocks List
Here is a list of all of the Artifacts in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, what they do, and how to unlock them.
Ammo Rig
+50% Fire Rate, -15% Move Speed
How to Unlock
Complete the "Reach 75% Reload Speed" Artifacts Milestone. You can reach 75% Reload Speed by purchasing Upgrades and selecting Level Up bonuses that increase the Reload Speed stat.
Take note that this can only be unlocked by increasing your Reload Speed stat -- increasing the Reload Speed of an individual Weapon will not count toward this goal!
Armor Grease
We have not yet unlocked the Armor Grease Artifact.
How to Unlock
Complete the "Dodge 100 times during a dive" Artifacts Milestone.
Barley Bulb Juice
Gain a temporary movespeed buff when standing still. +5% Move Speed for 3 seconds. Stacks up to 5 times.
How to Unlock
Complete the "Reach 50% Move Speed" Artifacts Milestone. This can most easily be accomplished by choosing the Recon Scout Class Mod since he has a +35% Move Speed buff by default. Naturally, investing a few points into Upgrades for Move Speed helps as well.
BLT Ration Pack
+70 Max HP, +2 Life Regen
How to Unlock
Complete the "Reach 300 Max HP" Artifacts Milestone. Investing in Max HP Upgrades can make this a little easier. You should pick either the Classic Scout (which has a +20 Max HP permanent buff) or the Juggernaut Gunner Class Mod (which has +50 Max HP as a permanent buff).
BRN Shield Belt
Explode in a ring of fire dealing damage and burning nearby enemies when you take damage. 30 seconds cooldown
How to Unlock
Complete the "Deal 250,000 Fire Damage" Artifacts Milestone. The Driller Class specializes in Fire damage, so it would be an ideal choice for grinding out this Milestone.
Clipboard of Grudges
Gain XP when you take damage
How to Unlock
The Clipboard of Grudges Artifact is unlocked by default.
FRZ Shield Belt
Knock back and slow nearby enemies when you take damage. 30 seconds cooldown
How to Unlock
Complete the "Deal 250,000 Cryo Damage" Artifacts Milestone. The Scout Class has some Cryo Weapons available in the early levels, so it would be a good choice.
Gold Scanner
You get a small chance to find Gold, when mining any kind of rock!
How to Unlock
Complete the "Collect 250 Gold" Artifacts Milestone. You'll probably collect 250 Gold after a few dives, well before you unlock the Driller Class or any other Class Mod with a boost to Mining.
Gold-Tipped Bullets
Increase your damage done by 1% for every 5 Gold you have
How to Unlock
Complete the "Collect 2,000 Gold" Artifacts Milestone. It would be easiest to pick the Driller Class and focus on mining as much Gold as possible during your dives.
Nitra Scanner
You get a small chance to find Nitra, when mining any kind of rock!
How to Unlock
Complete the "Collect 250 Nitra" Artifacts Milestone. You'll likely collect 250 Nitra in just a few short dives.
Nitragenic Powder
Increase your critical chance by 0.5% for every Nitra you have
How to Unlock
Complete the "Collect 2,000 Nitra" Artifacts Milestone. Picking the Driller Class and focusing on mining Nitra is the fastest way to complete this Milestone.
Pay2Win Console
We have not yet unlocked the Pay2Win Console upgrade.
How to Unlock
Complete the "Spend 20,000 Gold" Artifacts Milestone. There's no real fast track to earning and spending this much Gold other than grinding it out.
Pickled Nitra
Increase your damage by 2% and decrease your move speed by 0.5% for every Nitra you have.
How to Unlock
Complete the "Deal over 1,337 damage in one attack" Artifacts Milestone. The best strategy to get this Artifact is to focus on choosing a high-damage Weapon from a strongly combat-focused Class (such as the Gunner) and focusing on leveling it up as high as possible in a run.
You should also invest in Upgrades and Level Up Bonuses for Critical Chance and Critical Damage; getting a Critical Hit with a powerful, highly upgraded Weapon is the shortest route to completing this Milestone.
Popup Tripod
Increase your fire rate and reload speed when standing still. +2% Fire Rate, +2% Reload Speed for 2 seconds. Stacks up to 10 times.
How to Unlock
Complete the "Kill 15,000 Aliens while standing still" Artifacts Milestone.
