11 Bit Studios and Dead Mage have announced that Children of Morta's Paws and Claws DLC has raised a whopping $300,000 for charity. The DLC donates all of its proceeds to the Humane Society, so if you buy it, you're helping out animals around the world.
Paws and Claws first arrived in August 2020, adding features like an animal shelter, pet-related boons and bonuses, and the chance to care for pets during your downtime from dungeon-delving. At the time, Children of Morta producer Karol Kała said he believed "a company producing meaningful games should act meaningfully", and now, it looks like that wish has been fulfilled.
In a press release, 11 Bit reveals that Paws and Claws has officially raised more than $300,000 for the Humane Society, which feels especially relevant during a time when the companionship and love we offer to pets is arguably more important than ever. It looks like the Bergsons' pets are indeed for life and not just for Christmas.
Humane Society International states that its mission is to "promote the human-animal bond and confront cruelty in all its forms". The organization helps to treat pets and animals stricken by illness or injury around the world, as well as trying to put a stop to animal cruelty and ensuring that animals are cared for wherever they need it. That kind of good cause is hard to argue with.
You can grab Children of Morta right now on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The game is also playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S via backwards compatibility. Naturally, the Paws and Claws DLC is also available across all of these platforms. If you're picking the game up on PC for the first time, you can enjoy a hefty 70% discount on the base game and 60% on Paws and Claws. At that price, the DLC is a steal, and it's for a good cause, so go check it out!
