Nicole is one of the first characters introduced in Zenless Zone Zero — In fact, you’ll be able to use her almost immediately. While she’s a free character, she has a lot to offer for your team which makes her a great support character even during the latter parts of the game.

Basic Tips

Nicole is a support agent in Zenless Zone Zero. She can be as complex or simple as you want her to be. Mainly, her job is going to be shooting her EX Special Attack and applying her DEF shred so your other agents can deal a lot more damage.

Aside from this, her EX Special Attack and Ultimate have grouping capabilities that make it easier for the clean-up crew to clear the room.

Skills and Priority

Nicole’s skill level-up priority should be her Core Skill and Special Attack. Upgrading her Core Skill increases the DEF shred she deals which is one of the reasons she’s a great support agent.

Her special attack is the way you proc her DEF shred. Either by using her EX Special Attack or attacking after the reload animation of her special attack. As such, this should also be upgraded as this move is going to be your most used move.

The third priority should be her Assist and the rest could follow.

Best Drive Discs

Nicole’s best Drive Disc combination is:

• 4x Swing Jazz
• 2x Chaotic Metal

Four pieces of Swing Jazz allow her not to only increase her Energy Regeneration but also to increase all her squad member’s damage after launching a Chain Attack or Ultimate. These chain attacks happen after using a heavy attack or a special attack on a stunned opponent. This means that this situation will likely occur a lot.

Two pieces of Chaotic Metal increase her Ether DMG by 10% which is the type of damage her special attack and ultimate uses.

In terms of the best base stats for her Drive Discs, you’re going to want these:

• Energy Regen
• Ether DMG
• Anomaly Proficiency

Take note that Disc Drives 1 - 3 all have a fixed base stat. 1 has an HP base stat, 2 has an ATK base stat, and 3 has a DEF base stat. For Disc Drive sub-stats, consider these:

• Ether DMG
• CRIT Rate
• CRIT DMG
• ATK%
• Anomaly Proficiency

The main goal is to have an Energy Regen high enough for you to reliably use her special attack whenever needed.

Best W-Engine

Here are the best W-Engines for Nicole in Zenless Zone Zero:

• The Vault
• Weeping Cradle
• Kaboom the Cannon
• Mark II

The best W-Engine out of all of these is the Vault. The Vault’s Energy Recharge and passive which increases her squadmate’s damage against a specific target makes it the best W-Engine for Nicole.

The damage buff only applies when the damage dealt by the wearer is Ether damage from an EX Special Attack, Chain Attack, or Ultimate, which is perfect for an Ether attacker like her.

Weeping Cradle is very similar but gives PEN instead of Energy Regen. The Energy Regen comes from the passive and the damage buff is still there. However, the raw Energy Regen given by The Vault still makes The Vault superior from the rest of the list.

Team Composition

Nicole can fit into almost any team composition that needs a debuffer. However, she works well with either another Cunning Hare member or another Ether anomaly member. Here’s an example:

• Anby
• Nicole
• Zhu Yuan

Anby acts as the team’s stun dealer. She’s mostly the character outside dealing stun damage to open up opponents. Nicole is going to act as the support with her DEF shred and damage buffs to her party mates. Zhu Yuan is going to be the main damage dealer of the team and she’s mostly going to be out in the field after the opponent is stunned.

If you have Zhu Yuan, you can change Anby into any other stun specialist agents as long as it’s not an Ether agent. If you don’t have Zhu Yuan, you can either have Anby as your stun specialist and another main dps such as Corin or Ellen; or you can also have Billy as your damage specialist and have another stun specialist.

The main rule is that there should either be two ether agents or two agents from Cunning Hares.
