Studio Wildcard has announced the Ark: Survival Ascended Xbox release date, but there's bad news for PlayStation gamers.
In a post on the official Ark: Survival Ascended X (formerly Twitter) account, the developer reveals that the game will, in fact, launch for Xbox Series X|S later today. It's landing at 9am Pacific (that's 12pm Eastern).
Last week, Studio Wildcard said that the game was on track for a late November release on both Xbox and PlayStation, but PS5 certification for Ark: Survival Ascended has apparently proven tricky.
In the Xbox release date announcement post, Studio Wildcard says it's "still working closely with Sony" on certification for Ark: Survival Ascended on PS5.
The studio says it's "encountered some issues which will require additional time", and so the PlayStation version of the game has been pushed back to early December.
No more specific release date has been given, although Studio Wildcard says it will "continue to provide updates on the PlayStation release" as it makes progress through the certification process.
If you're unfamiliar with Ark: Survival Ascended, it's an enhanced remake of Ark: Survival Evolved.
Built on Unreal Engine 5, Ark: Survival Ascended boasts enhanced visuals and physics models, as well as access to "all of Ark's worlds", including Aberration, Extinction, and both parts of Genesis.
The remake-come-remaster was originally announced in April this year, alongside a delay for the upcoming Ark 2, which will serve as a full-fledged sequel to the original game.
Originally, DLC for Ark: Survival Ascended was planned to be offered in separate packs, but after backlash against this decision, Studio Wildcard walked back on it and decided to include all previous DLC within the remaster.
Ark: Survival Ascended will launch for Xbox Series X|S later today. The PlayStation version will arrive in early December, and the PC version is available right now via Steam.
