The Alters is a Survival title from 11 Bit Studios, creators of games such as Frostpunk and This War of Mine.
In The Alters the players assume the role of Jan Dolski, an astronaut sent on a mission to a different planet to collect a strange mineral called Rapidium. Upon crashlanding and learning he's the only survivor Jan quickly learns he doesn't have the knowledge required to run every aspect of the mission. Jan is able to make Alters, versions of himself as if different decisions he'd made in his life had been made different. Each Alter is a version of what Jan could have become, but didn't.
There are many Jan's, each equipped to handle different aspects of life on this harsh planet, but in a single playthrough you won't be able to experience them all.
