Horror fans are eating well this month, even though we're nowhere near October! Here are some of the highlights for this month's Game Pass roundup.
Octopath Traveler 2 - June 6th (PC, Xbox Series X|S, cloud)
The first Octopath Traveler was an interesting experiment, but one that arguably suffered from a fair amount of bloat, as well as a disconnected-feeling party.
Happily, the sequel makes big strides towards fixing both of these problems, and while this won't win over JRPG skeptics, Octopath Traveler 2 is a grand, exciting adventure that's well worth checking out, especially on Game Pass.
The Callisto Protocol - June 13th (PC, console, cloud)
If you're a fan of Dead Space, then you've probably already checked out The Callisto Protocol, but if you haven't, it's making its way to Game Pass in mid-June.
Our very own Sam was rather unimpressed by this one, and if truth be told, so was I, but hey - if you're a Game Pass member, it won't cost you any extra to check it out, right? You might even like it!
Still Wakes the Deep - June 18th (PC, Xbox Series X|S, cloud)
While The Chinese Room is hard at work on Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, don't let that make you think the studio has abandoned its horror roots.
Still Wakes the Deep is The Chinese Room's latest horror-themed narrative adventure, and if you loved Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, then you're bound to get a kick out of this one as well.
My Time at Sandrock - June 19th (PC, console, cloud)
If you've got room in your life for one more cozy farming-slash-life sim, make it My Time at Sandrock, the followup to Pathea Games' My Time at Portia.
It's got all the usual farming sim joys to discover, including villagers to meet (and possibly even romance!), crops to grow, and even combat-focused dungeons to hack and slash your way through. Check out our review here.
SteamWorld Dig (console, cloud) and SteamWorld Dig 2 (PC, console) - June 26th
Both SteamWorld Dig games are well worth your time, so check them out this month if you're a Game Pass subscriber.
The first game is a short-but-sweet Metroidvania-adjacent platformer, while the sequel ramps up the scale and scope but keeps the emphasis on innovative rock-digging gameplay.
That's everything we've got for the Xbox Game Pass June 2024 lineup at the moment! As ever, be sure to give us a shout if there's anything we've missed, and keep an eye on this page for more Game Pass games as soon as we know about them.
