Modiphius Entertainment has announced a new campaign for Legends of Avallen. Their Celtic-inspired TTRPG will be getting a new adventure called Against The Faerie Queene. The release will include a campaign, as well as an artbook and deck of playing cards.
The Against The Faerie Queene announcement
According to an official press release, Against The Faerie Queene is a 370-page epic fantasy campaign. The campaign is about the Faerie Queene orchestrating an aeons-old quest for vengeance from the eerie twilight of the Otherworld. While her hidden agents are pulling strings between clans and gods, they cannot anticipate the rise of new heroes.
The fifteen-part campaign will feature heroic adventure inspired by the tragic legend of King Arthur's mother as well as lesser-known Welsh Celtic tales. These include the great boar hunt of “Culhwch and Olwen," the riddles of "The Son of Llyr" and the journey for redemption of "Peredur the Son of Efrawg."
Against The Faerie Queene is designed for characters level 1-10. It can be run using Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition or Modiphius' card-based TTRPG Legends of Avallen. The campaign includes new player options, lore of various Fae families, 50 NPCs, full color maps, 30 monster statblocks, and 25 magical items.
For those that prefer Dungeons & Dragons, the campaign also adapts five Legends of Avallen systems. Those systems are Parlay, Fate Cards, Stealth, Journeys, and Monster Tells.
In addition to the campaign, Modiphius is selling an Against The Faerie Queene artbook. This 176-page hardcover book is packed with details on the legends that inspired the campaign as well as concept illustrations and design commentary behind the adventure. The press release proudly states "No AI Art Here!"
Lastly, a full deck of playing cards will be available with Against The Faerie Queene. It is a traditional poker deck printed on premium card stock that features Celtic-inspired borders, a selective metallic foil finish, and evocative monster illustrations.
Against The Faerie Queene is available for pre-order right now. The art book is being sold at an MSRP of $38.36, the playing cards are available for $25.58, and the campaign book is $62.66. Finally, there is a bundle that contains all three for $147.06.
